I do think Virginia (and other states) need to control guns better. I don't have a gun, nor want one, but I think most people who think it is a right as much as freedom (and protects it) thinks that wackos and non-citizens should not be allowed to get it so easily. I do know the guy who sold it to the wackjob is beside himself.

Let's find a solution to this problem, not make it a them vs us thing. I hope we can deal with this rationally and not get too caught up in political statements.

It amazes me in these days of concerns about terrorists how a NON-citizen can get a gun so quickly. I don't care if he has a Green Card or not...he's NOT a citizen of the US.

Just to be clear though, I don't think this is a big answer to anything, I just find it odd that we are so concerned about folks coming and living here in sleeper cells, then going out and killing people...but in states like VA a NON-citizen can buy a gun in 1 minute? That's a bit too weird for me.

I have to agree, and I'm about as pro-Second Amendment as you can get.

Citizens here in the USA should absolutely have the right to bear arms.

Non-citizens? Um... can you say, "no-brainer?" THAT is the loophole that needs to be closed in our gun laws, not banning entire classes of rifles simply because they look too "scary."

Mr. Cho on Tuesday sure didn't need an assault rifle. Deadliest shooting in history, and the ban on "assault weapons" wouldn't have even touched him. Neither did the law making the campus a "gun-free zone." If he's willing to violate a law as major as murder, what makes people think he'll hesitate to violate a law as a minor as a "gun-free zone"?

There are common-sense restrictions on gun ownership that I can get behind. Unfortunately, nobody on the gun control side of the debate seems interested in passing any of them.

90% of all gun crimes are done with pistols. They are easy to conceal, etc.
Assualt rifles are more dangerous at a long distance, but pistols are more deadly in many more ways.

Cho sent a package to nbc between the shooting at 7 and the massacre at 9. It sickens me what people do. They didnt reveal what was in the package yet.
