Well looks like USC is back to their old ways already.

USC Trojans RB Dillon Baxter out vs. Oregon State Beavers after 'inadvertent contact' with possible agent, according to coach Lane Kiffin - ESPN Los Angeles

My favorite quote is....

"[Thursday], as [Baxter] was traveling across campus, he was given a ride in a golf cart by a couple students," Kiffin said in a video released on the school's official site. "Later we found out that one of these students may be an agent."

Oh, I see Laney.... It's not breaking the rules, because Baxter didn't know he was breaking the rules.

LOL at USC's stupidity.

I think they should open up CFB and let anything go. This is agent thing is going to be in the news every weekend and I am frankly tired of hearing about Cam and his dad. Let colleges hire players. This is like the war on drugs

That might be on Lane or Dillon, but I guarantee you Haden is whipping that program into shape. While I never loved him as an announcer, he's going to run SC right right way.

If you read the whole story properly, it states that Baxter didn't know the student was an agent.

No, I read it properly.

Maybe Baxter didn't know the student was an agent.

But that could also just be a cover up.

I'm by know means saying this is a problem for USC, but they seem to always but themselves in compromising situations.

Ridiculous. You should probably find another sport to follow then.

Anyway, Baxter has been a mess for the Trojans, and really, nothing but a problem:

* Right after the sanctions broke, he fabricated a story about 5 teams illegally contacting him, trying to get him to transfer out of SC. When the teams denied it, Baxter was pressed for evidence, so he said he lost his phone LOL (forgetting that there is something called phone records). Months later, he finally admitted that he made the story up.

* There were murky details about a story involving him and campus security and marijuana.

* He was suspended by Kiffy-boy for repeatedly breaking team rules, allegedly because he was always late to class and generally had a HUGE ego in which he didn't have to play by the rules. Baxter even admitted earlier this month that he is constantly late to class.

* And now this incident. Personally, I think it's either major overkill or something bigger that they're not saying. Seriously, a golf cart ride (I used to get them all the time in college...but from janitors LOL) is not that big of a deal, esp if Baxter wasn't even sure he was an agent and self-reported it. There has to be something more, or they are going waaaaayyyy overboard with compliance as a way to appease the NCAA as they review their appeal.

Football coaches I know in San Diego, and even USC fans I know in San Diego (my sister lives there), said they could see this coming a mile away. The say the kid has been coddled for years and has a gigantic ego. There have been rumblings on SC boards since the spring that he has been a problem, and other than that incredible spring run in a scrimmage, hasn't lived up to the Reggie-Bush hype he's been getting (including from his own coach). It wouldn't surprise me at all if he didn't last 4 years there.

A statement has been bothering me for a while.

A statement has been bothering me for a while.

Keyshawn Johnson says "everybody gets paid." Has anyone seen a ND alum say the same thing? Evidently, this paying the players has been going on at U$C for some time. Bastards, kick their asses this week!
