I think most SEC QB's pretty much suck, and Mustain was an SEC QB. But then again I hate the SEC (damn good conference though). He's a thrower, not a runner, and he had a helluva time grasping USC's prostyle offense last year while he redshirted and even this year. Put it this way: He was the Gatorade Player of the Year, and people still don't know who's gonna be their QB next year. It's a wide-open race. He's overrated my friend...

Isnt aaron corp going to be a redshirt sophomore next year? He was pretty damn good in hs too. Competition will breed a good starter at USC most likely, hopefully the same thing happens at ND next year.

Its a big deal for SC that Mex ran away as fast as he could from that program like the INS was chasing him because of how much of a hit their defense is going to take next year. Last season, their defense was dominant and won those games. But, SC is losing a lot of those defense guys to the draft. Their defensive linebackers had obviously been roiding up, and those three are going to be taken in the first few rounds. Next season, SC needed their offense to hit the ground running while their defense gained experience. But, now, with Sanchez leaving, their offense is going to be as inexperienced as their defense.

Why not just talk football rather than bring up ethnicity, race, color, etc?

It doesn't seem necessary.

The guy is a good QB, even though he played for the bad guys. I wish him well.

My thoughts as well. Why doesn't USC make a counter-offer?

Too funny. Your last two posts cured my 24 hour hiccups. I also pooped.

And I am way too bored. I shall rename myself "Echoes Insomnia."

Totally original. No one else has a name like that.

Or maybe GoIrish!!.

No one else has a name like that.

Or "The Unmighty Quinn 10."

Or "DiveRightOut".

Stuff like that. All original.

Irishbleww.

Captain Quint tastic.

Pinup Boy.

TDHey!Zeus!

LOVEMYPOLISH

Stuff like that. All original.

Can you tell us your race so we can find some kind of stereotype and use it to bag on you?

Hey moron, he was born and raised in Mission Viejo, CA, with a dad who was born here and is VERY successful. He speaks better English than many "Americans" I know, and yet because he has a surname of "Sanchez" and he has dark hair you have to bring the INS into it. How old are you?

I can't believe I'm defending a USC QB, but come on urbanmeyerwhatever. I mean, I hate to rip on a newbie, but your take makes this board look like a racist one, which it isn't. And it makes you look like a racist, which you....well, I don't know. Keep it related to football, please, which is what I'll do in the following post.

I was talking to my 'dialed-in' ND friend who works and knows many USC well-connected alumni, and we were talking about the whole Sanchez press conference debacle. The USC alumni were pissed handled it, and I thought it was bush-league as well. But my friend had a different take. This is basically what he said:

"You gotta remember, Pete was in Hawaii when Sanchez called him to tell him he was wavering on his decision. He flies right in, talks to Sanchez all night and goes to bed thinking Sanchez is staying. Then he gets to the press conference, and right before the press conference Sanchez tells him he had a change of heart and he's going pro. Now Pete is supposed to go to the presser and give Sanchez his support? Remember, this is a kid who Pete (and the USC lawyers) got out of an underage drinking rap and a RAPE CHARGE, and he's going to basically stab him in the back? What you saw at the press conference was Petey's reaction to all that.

This is coming from a guy (my friend) who HATES SC, but he brings up some interesting points. He admits that Pete should have just grinned and bared it in front of the media and then chewed Sanchez out afterwards, but it at least gave me some perspective on why Pete acted the way he did. Just thought I'd give a different perspective on the whole thing...

No, I bring it up because it was Sanchez who pushed it into everybody's face when he did the black glove salute equivalent by wrapping himself in the colors and symbols of Mexico in that nationally televised game against ND.

And, afterwards, this is what Sanchez had to say about the whole thing:
When I see little kids after the game and they’re Mexican like me … they see hope

Notice that he didn't say American or Mexican-American like me, but Mexican.

When's the last time your ungrateful boy wrapped himself in the colors and symbols of this country?

I am so offended at this type of insensitivity...

Just because he has a surname like Sanchez and he's been charged with underage drinking, you just had to bring up all those stereotypes about Mexicans.

I could give a shit, because he's a QB, and I don't look to QB's to guide me on my social views.

Why don't you start a thread about the INS and Sanchez, you racist prick. However, racist a-holes like you are always the most ignorant ones, so I doubt you'd be able to do that. Anyways, i come here to talk about football and Notre Dame related things. Do you know anything about football, or did you just come on here to bag on Mexicans?

Wait, judging from your first post, you know nothing about life nor football. First, your pathetic attempt at humor with the INS 'joke' (did you hear the crickets?), and then this idiotic statement:

But, now, with Sanchez leaving, their offense is going to be as inexperienced as their defense.

Ummm, actually USC's offense brings EVERYONE back but their QB and an overrated WR. HAs does that make them inexperienced? Their entire line is back, all 15 or so RB's are back, as are the best wideouts. All they need to do is hand the ball off (which they didn't do enough of under Sark) and they'll be fine. So when you return 9 starters, how exactly does that make you inexperienced?

Then again, you're a racist tool so you won't be able to answer that question...

P.S. Damn, I hate USC, but I hate racists even more so I'm forced to defend USC's former QB...

I'm with the previous two posters you racist fuck.

agreed

You know something urban-whatever, if your not American Native Indian, you are an immigrant. I'm half Irish half Italian, which equals: Immigrant. This forum is to opinionate about players and their play, not their heritage. Least you remember these are just kids. Really low class on your part.

Dang man, you are at least ten times the man I am if you add up all of those halves. I am of Native American descent but appear to be of Mexican descent. I also appear to be Italian by some folks I guess. I have been called racial slurs by almost every other race in the country. I have to laugh because not only does it show ignorance to use a slur it shows incredible ignorance to use one incorrectly. I expect nothing intelligent from a racist.

So, SCfanboy, do you still want to defend SC's performance?

Even though all you SC fan boys were slobbering up SC, I was the lone voice saying how much they were going to struggle- their defense had lost too many players to the NFL and their offense was too 'inexperienced' to step in to make up for that. The QB is the most important player on the field. How many points and turnovers did SC's offense had over to the opposing team this season?

I knew that SC wasn't going to win the Pac-10 as SC wouldn't be that strong and the rest of their division had gotten stronger. So, how much do you know about football?

How many players at Florida with Meyer as HC have been arrested again? Its at least over 20 players.

Urban Meyer was a scum bag who didn't come to his 'dream job' when the administration didn't cave in to his demands to jettison its academic standards so he could sneak in ghetto thugs through the back door.

I'll bet he knows enough to know that there are no "divisions" in the PAC-10.

Nice try you racist punk. What did I say that wasn't true? All SC had to do was hand the ball off and their offense would have been fine. You do realize that their RBs averaged over 6 yards a carry right? It's not my fault Poodle developed a mancrush on Barkley and had him flinging the ball all over the place. I'm happy he did because SC's offense suffered mightily because of his infatuation with the kid and his unwillingness to chew him out or bench after making crippling mistakes. I still think I know a wee bit about football, and life as well, much more than you my racist friend.

In fact, here is what I said at the time about SC and Sanchez:

In other words, he's brittle, and he doesn't have a high threshhold for pain. He's always dinged up, and he got hurt this year stepping over someone (didn't have any contact), and was out for what they thought was a long time. I'm not saying this is true, I'm just saying that people I know around the program (far on the outside, but still, word gets around, and almost everything they tell me[ comes true) tell me this. So if you're Mark, and you're scared of getting injured and your knee is already beat up, then why risk another year of being injured and having your career threatened?

What's Mark doing right now? Oh yeah, that's right, out with a knee injury.

As for the defense, when the hell did I say their defense would be good? Oh, that's right, I never said that. Nice try though sport.

Anyways, when you first came on here, myself and many others were offended by your racist comments. But I couldn't do anything about it because there were no mods back then. Well now I'm a mod, and I still hate racists. Bye-bye you racist f**k...
