Ater watching the full UM and MSU games and the 1st half of PSU, none of them really showed me much, especially when you consider the competition they played. Now OSU, at least through halftime, looks to be as good as advertised, but again their competition, or lack thereof, might make it a little misleading.

Assuming ND comes out a winner tonight against Georgia Tech, the road may not be as bumpy in September as we expected. I know first games really doesn't give you the true picture, but it still gives you an indication.

The road to Arizona may be a little easier than we thought. GO IRISH!!!!!

I watched some of the Michigan game and they played well overall. They played very good defensively and probably would have scored 50 if their receivers would have caught the ball. They are going to be a tough game.

I also just watched Penn State and was not impressed in the slightest. They played Akron, who has NO team speed, and they seemed to play down to their level. Also, on defense, they seemed to have no defensive line penetration. Not a good thing for them if they do that against us.

That's my take too. D was great, the receivers' hands, not so much.

For now, I'm going to start referring to Michigan's coach a LoyDDD--fewer Ls and a lot more D.

Weather was so bad at the PSU-Akron game, it was hard to tell much.

Let's not underestimate these guys...they may start slow but they have unlimited potential to win. UM is the game that scares me most this season.

I've also got to say... I really love Ecker. He's probably one of my favorite TEs in the country.

UM is getting back to running the football. They will be tough. That defense against this ND offense vs. GA Tech will not be pretty.

And USC ain't skipping a beat folks. Sorry.

Watching the Michigan game: I was impressed with their defense (although it was vanderbilt) and their offense was pretty good and would have been better but once again (it WAS vanderbilt). Overall I gave michigan a B+.

Watching the Michigan State game: I was totally unimpressed. Michigan States offense was inconsistant most of the game and theyre defense was not that good and once again they played IDAHO???? who in the hell is Idaho? (a potato right?) anyway, if they play like that against us its going to be a LONG night in East Lansing.

Watched most of the Penn State game: Not impressed at all. Penn State had ZERO defensive line penetration at all, was not impressed with their so called best linebacking corp in the country, and that offense did not take off where it left off last year. Akron was an incredibly slow team and still looked faster than penn state on some plays.

Watched the whole Notre Dame game: Not impressed with the offense yet (but they did play in a hostile environment and a very fast and well balanced defense, and take in mind this is the same defense that beat #3 miami at miami and #10 auburn at auburn last year.) I think you will see a different Notre Dame offense against penn state this coming saturday. and wow was I impressed with our defense. They looked great. They totally shut down calvin johnson in the 2nd half and only allowed Georgia Tech 1 first down in the 2nd half. Overall I would rate Notre Dame's offense a B- and their defense a A-. Now of course the offense grade is subject to change. GO IRISH!
