Just a wild guess, he was a former Cane player.

Judging from the moronic use of vocabulary and his utter delight for the events that were taking place at the time, I'm going to agree with this.

Trash. That's pretty much the one word that comes to mind.

It was Lamar Thomas. 1993 "graduate" of the South Florida Correctional College.

Did SFCC has any recruits visiting that game? If so, I'd love to know what they thought of that scene.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) -- After reviewing a sideline-clearing brawl between players from Miami and Florida International, officials from both schools and their conferences on Sunday announced the suspension of 31 players -- 13 from the Hurricanes, and 18 from FIU. Each suspended player must sit out his team's next game for taking part in the ugly melee that marred the team's Saturday matchup. Miami plays at Duke on Saturday, FIU plays at Alabama Oct. 28. ...

Yes, Miami is playing winless Duke next week, not anyone in the ACC's upper echelon. Still, the Hurricanes will have to play that game without their best kick returner (Johnson), their second-best running back (Jones), two starters in the secondary (Meriweather and Randy Phillips), their right guard (Morse) and their punter (Monroe). Plus, starting right tackle Jason Fox and linebacker Jon Beason were injured Saturday night and their availability isn't known for the Duke game. ...

More at the LINK.

One game suspensions are inadequate for those throwing punches, kicking, stomping, and swinging a helmet.

The brawl on Saturday was indeed dispicable. That announcer should be fired on the spot.
What role models!!!!!!!

How do you get into a fight at home with a team that should be I-AA and you're favored by 27 points?

The coaching staffs are responsible for this. Having watched the replay a few times, Miami players jumped on the opportunity to escalate this thing. It takes two to tango, but you have to have a leader.

This progam looked like it was coming out of the dark under Butch Davis, but it has gone right back to the old days of firearms, felonies and pharmeceuticals of the 1980s.

This is the second time this season DUH U has been involved in some kind of skirmish.

I can't believe that's all they're considering. Suspended for the gimme game against Duke, and then everyone's available again two weeks from now against Georgia Tech. Just sad.

Though to be fair... my boss is a 'Canes fan, and while he wants Coker fired, he did point out that Coker did suspend 5 guys for the FSU game. But still... I hope the NCAA steps in and says this isn't enough. A one-game suspension won't make anyone think twice about taking a swing at an opposing player who's pissed them off.

Anyone else here starting to see a trend.....This program needs an enima.

It's the latest in a disturbing series of incidents for Miami in recent months.

Several Miami players fought with LSU players following the Tigers' 40-3 Peach Bowl win.

Shortly before the Miami-Louisville game Sept. 16, virtually the entire Hurricanes' roster jumped on the Cardinals logo at midfield, an act widely viewed as a taunting gesture. Afterward, some Miami players chided teammates for that incident.

A Miami player, Willie Cooper, was shot outside his home shortly before training camp began in what players contend was a robbery attempt. Meriweather returned fire; police said he acted legally.

Wide receiver Ryan Moore, who was suspended for the Peach Bowl for violating team rules, then suspended again for other infractions, is expected to be charged this week with misdemeanors stemming from an August fight with a woman. He hasn't played this season.

There is complete and utter chaos in that program right now. The inmates are running the asylum.

But what bothers them the most is the lack of wins. The behavior of their players is secondary to the fact that the coaches aren't winning games.

If they're unbeaten right now, it gets swept under the rug.

Someone needs to come in there and change the culture. These scumbag alumni come back and work out with these guys, influencing them in ways we can only imagine.

That Rutgers coach had better think twice about getting the Miami offer if Coker is let go. Bigger isn't always better. If I'm him, I stay at Rutgers.

Personally, I applaud that announcer for saying what he thinks. I think everyone wanted to be that excited about, but they couldn't since they were on national television. I mean, what more can you expect from Miami? The fight made for the most interesting viewing of the day. And since no one was seriously injured, it's ok to not feel bad about it.
I think we all need to just take a step back and laugh at the situation.

It's not Notre Dame.

Please tell me you're joking....There is NO room for this kind of behavior in sports.

It's not Notre Dame.

And it shouldn't be college football, which is supposed to exemplify sportsmanship and competition. Not thuggery.

Had this happened in the NFL, it would be a multi game suspension for some of the players involved.

Read this book. You'll never look at Duh U the same way ever again.

You think you know about them now? Read this book and you'll loathe them even more.
