They already did. The Purcell Pavilion (or whatever it's called) renovations are like a whole new Joyce Center.

Notre Dame has money growing out of their ears and they can't give the players turf. But they can give a mediocre men's basketball team a brand new arena. Amazing

Players say turf, fans say "big screen" pump up crowd replays only...as much as I hate the scUM the video they played before the ND game last year (this is Michigan) absolutely set that place on fire!

I'd take the turf over video board... because the video board won't score you more points it just displays them....

I'm in for new turf-I also dont understand what is meant be tradition or the look of the field. At Notre Dame it will obviously stay the same just safer/better/ more usable playing surface. Speed boys speed. If they do it I bet they even keep the end zones the same and dont add any crap to the center of the field. The look is fine just as is but a speed producing turf would be an improvement.

Hell...isn't a bigger tradition winning football games and national championships as opposed to the surface of the field...If playing on a field of sand meant utter dominance at home, I don't see why ANYBODY would or should have a problem with that...
