In keeping with the recent trend here at Irish Envy of beating up on the bucknuts... Why do you think tOSU gives out SO MANY damn pride stickers??? I mean the damn backup punter has a quarter helmet full flowers... so I came up with a theory... Tress awards pride stickers to his players for the following reasons...

1.) 6 stickers given to any player who nearly shows up for class

2.) 5 pride stickers given the the player who declines booster's money for any given game week...

any thoughts????

I think that each player receives 1 sticker for every game or practice that they actually tie their own shoes.

Come-on, how many other programs that take themselves seriously do the sticker thing still? What is this Pop Warner??

damn, thats gotta be any easy way to get stickers...

back in the high school days the only way we got stickers was a) offensively score 28+ or b)defensively pitch a shut-out, no td's scored, or no first downs (which the coaches labeled black death since it happened 4 times my senior year! ha

I got a sticker once when I played football in 2nd grade because I juked somebody in a game.

.... then I went on to accept $5,000 from a booster and become the top Heisman contender 2 years later.

We didn't get helmet decals in college, but we got them in high school. Green stars was all they were.

Junior year I put them on my helmet religiously. Senior year a few of us made a pact and stopped doing it.

The only ones I ever put on my helmet were the skull and cross bones sticker, which symbolized a team shutout, and I put them on the back of the helmet. We had four on there my senior year. The rest, I kept in an envelope in my locker.

They don't give them out anymore and haven't for a few years.
