On Fox Sports....

"A win is a win any which way you look at it," said Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith, who threw for only 108 yards. "Whether you score 50 points or 17 - not the way you want to - who cares? We won today and will continue to grow."

A little defensive? He obviously understands that the voters don't see every win as equal. It's also pretty obvious that tOSU won't drop in the standings because of this close win. I did hear grumblings on ESPN about the close calls by both UM and tOSU.

I'm waiting to see if his Heisman stock drops. My guess is that it wont even though he played a horrible game. His team will have to lose for him to lose the Heosman.

Sorry. If we can't use that for our wins, neither can OSU.

OSU has done this once or twice....ND has nearly lost to mediocre teams several times.
Which means absolutely nothing....if you're gonna hold ND to a point spread set by the scumbags in Vegas, then you hold everyone to it.

You're right, every team has their shitty wins, and OSU is no exception. But OSU is the only team in the country I know of that denies that they played a terrible game when.. well, they did.

For instance, in the PSU game, they almost lost to a defense. But some genius came up with a great euphemism for "we played shitty" that was stated repeatedly as: "It was just typical big ten football."

And the QB got Heisman hype for one good play even though he was horrible otherwise.
