On Saturday, Rome (Ga.) High inside linebacker Toryan Smith took his last visit before he announces his decision on Dec. 5. The visit, a trip to Gainesville, Fla., to take in the Gators and Florida State Seminoles game, provided the three-star recruit with a look at the one remaining program in his top three that he had not visited.

With visits to all three of his top schools – Alabama, Notre Dame and Florida – now behind him, Smith currently has everything he needs to compare and contrast.

"My visit went good, I had a good time," Smith said. "I was talking to my dad on the way back home from the game about the trip and all the schools and it's tough when you look at all of them.

"They were all great visits and they were all similar in some ways but different in others. I guess they all are different in their own little way. It's hard to explain really."

While Smith now has all the tools he needs to come to a decision, the senior said he had a pretty good idea of what program is set to get his commitment before he ever stepped foot onto the Florida campus.

"I pretty much knew before I went to the game what school I wanted to commit to," he said. "The visit didn't really change any of that. I had a good time at the game but nothing has changed from what it was before."

Though he said it was tough to put into words what the differences between the visits are, the 6-foot, 230-pounder did talk about the trip and how things went.

"I met with the coaches, the strength and conditioning coach and the nutritionists there at Florida," he said. "The thing I got the most out of is the interaction that I had with the players. Dorian Munroe, Nyan Boateng, and Ryan Stamper all hung out with me and showed me a good time. They are pretty good people down there.

"Other than that I went to the game and enjoyed myself there. They whooped them up pretty bad. The offense is still struggling to click a little but the defense just swarmed them, especially the linebackers."

Now that the visits are behind him, Smith says he plans to spend this week going over everything that he has out in front of him.

"I'm going to discuss everything with my family with this week one last time," he said. "We'll talk about all three of the schools and just look at what the best fit for me will be, then I'll be ready to announce on ESPN.

"I'm still not sure of the time, but ESPNU will be carrying the announcement. They've talked to me since the summer about coming on there and making my announcement, so it should be pretty cool to do that."

Interesting comments. I have a feeling he is staying home in Georgia. Guess we'll have to wait and see, but it would be nice to get him.

It's ND, Bama or UF. Is UGA in the picture?

I like ND's chances here quite a bit.

I'm sorry... I meant Bama. Recruits are running together today.

We seem to be hearing about a few new names in Linebacker recruits. Could be a sign that Toryan is going to verbal somewhere else-Bama probably. I trust Charlie and the coaching staff. I believe they love Micah Johnson's athleticism but are having a tough time rationalizing his 2.3 gpa. That is why we are starting to see names like Tongo, Rouse and Becker for that last Linebacker opening.

Go Irish!!!

Rouse is only a junior, but Tongo would be pretty legit and equal to Smith.

Smith was ready to commit after his ND visit, that postponed and visited Bama and Florida.

You guys don't think ND is the lean on this?

Well, with Micah Johnson electing for Kentucky, Toryan becomes a priority again. Hope we do pull him away from Bama and Florida.

i was under the impression that his first visit was with 'bama. knowing that he visited ND first, and based on his comments, then yes, i'd say he's Irish. in fact, i'd be surprised if he's not.

His visits, that I know of, are as follows:

OU
ND
scUM
Florida

After ND, he was going to commit. Then postponed, took two more visits. Maybe he did visit Bama, unofficially perhaps?

Mike Shula visited him yesterday.

ND's Bill Lewis will visit him tomorrow, the 30th. LLLLLoyd Carr will be there Friday. Urban Meyer on Saturday.

He announces Monday. Everyone is trying to get in their one last sale.

I think it will be between ND and Bama.

Jigga, are you counting on LLLLoyd losing the bowl game? You put in five L's. You're probably right. I hope he keeps his job for a long time.

I just hit a bunch of L's....I didn't even realize how many.

Sure, why not. They'll lose. I don't even know who they're playing.

Carr should get another year or two. Fulmer as well. Va Tech gave Beamer some time and that proved to be a good long term investment.
