I think that the pollsters have their work cut out for themselves tomorrow with all of the shake-up games that happened today.
1. everyone has had a hard-on for Oklahoma all year, but can you keep them in the top 25 at 3-3?
2. how far do you drop Va Tech and Ohio State?
3. likewise Nebraska and Kansas?
4. do you really put Boise in the top 5 for beating Tulsa?
5. how high can you really put Cinncinati
6. do you let Cal and scUM back in, and where?
7. what do you do with West Virginia (5-1), Boston College (5-2), Pitt (6-1), Navy (5-2), Idaho (6-1), Texas Tech (5-2), and if you are just looking at records, Central Michigan (6-1)?
and 8. can you let ND stay in after today's loss?

If we get those last 4 yards and end up beating USC, we're a top 10-15 team in tomorrow's polls. But since we couldn't get those last 4 yards, we don't belong in the top 25.

It's all hypothetical of course but why not? Even though our games have been close we have outplayed our opponents and done so whith a nicked up team. USC will probably wind up #4 this week so we are 2 plays from being an undefeated team and with Floyd we are 6-0. Our defense does suck but the team can beat anybody.

This is how I would have it right now.

Texas 2nd? Have you seen them play? They've played a horseshit schedule, and have not looked impressive at all. Colorado totally outplayed them but good ol' Cody gave TX the game. McCoy has been horrible this year in comparison to the past 2 years. Turnover machine. OK is down, and their QB got hurt again, and they still were in the game.

FL hasn't been great either, but they're more impressive than TX, that is for sure. I guarantee you that if TX wins out, they will get absolutely hammered in the title game. But personally, I could see them losing before that.

Agree on Bama though. They've looked like the best team all year long. Although with that offense, I wouldn't be surprised if they lose a game before the SEC title game as well. All these teams are flawed, which makes me think they will all lose one game, save for FL. We'll see...

Tru dat, I think USC has one of the best D's in the country and if JC had been as relaxed all game as he was in the fourth quarter we would have put up 50.

I think Texas was one of those 8-10 teams he was referring to so whats your point. Not many said USC was overrated. I think there was just a general feeling of confidence and this USC team clearly isn't as dominant as ones in the past. There still a top 5 team easy, and neutral field I would honestly take them over anyone.

Time will take care - Penn St - with a 100+ SOS, Kansas at around 145 SOS and So.Florida around 146 - these numbers are from memory - ND SOS = 13 - we just win out and it takes care of itself. These teams won't win out.

I'm confused as to what those numbers mean. You can't be talking about SOS ranking... there are only 120 teams in FBS. How could teams have 145 SOS?

I've seen various SOS rankings, some saying that ND's is around the middle of the pack.

I see that ND is at 36 in one ranking system. The SOS is a concern but what is a bigger concern--or should be--is winning each game impressively from here on out. The question is will the defense allow us to win impressively from here on out.....

I seen something on espn that if nd wins 10 games they are an AUTOMATIC 14th ranking! What does this mean? it also said something about an automatic bcs berth? Am i reading into this wrong? Anybody have some insight?

For as hard as we played USC and NOT getting pulverized in our 2 losses knowone else seems to give a turkey.............SOS different year in the BSCS
