Love Mike but no.

I agree NBC needs to replace Hammond he drives me nuts. I don't know who could replace him but I'm sure it should be somebody employed by NBC.

I'm curious, why would you NOT want Golic? It would make perfect sense. Not only an awesome ND guy(who represents us well and give us a better balance in the pressbox), but he is also very intelligent, and has a lot credibility among the sports community. I can't think of anyone better.

Gus Johnson is the most annoying announcer in the history of sports. He is enthusiastic but he pushes it a little to far.

As long as Doug Flutie wouldn't be next in line, I'm all for Hammond leaving, lol...

I'm glad Flutie gets very little air time being in the studio

I agree with this. My dad even said something about Flutie, which is odd. His exact words...

"He's an idiot"

My dad is a Buckeye fan.

Flutie was really dogging BK/ND today over the whole media/twitter ordeal. I wanted to punch him in the neck

I didn't want to punch him... I wanted some people to hold him down and let me fart on his face.

Punch...fart.... it's all the same in that little troll's world.

(Sorry in advance if there are any little trolls lurking about the board.) Just sayin'...

Tom Hammond it the grandfather of the Mcpoyle's. The way he stares at Mike Maycock.

How about Dan Patrick?
Already works for NBC on Football Night in America. I know some don't like him but I do. He raised both middle fingers proud and told the mother ship to kiss his a$$!

He is terrible. During the game when Cierre Wood tripped, Hammond said "he got hit hard". What? We must be watching two different games

Last week on the personal foul with the helmet to helmet call. I personally thought that was a terrible call. I didn't actually see any leading with the helmet or helmet to helmet contact.

He of course said it was a great call.

I caught that too, and had to look around me and see if there was something going on that I wasn't aware of.

Also probably his worst comment I have heard from the guy yet was after the personal foul call against Carlo last week (which probably was taunting, but was also borderline)...Mayock said something along the lines of "Well is that really taunting or is it a young guy being emotional" and Hammond came right back with something like "Its absolutely the right call, its taunting and its ridiculous". I forget exactly how he worded it, but I am glad I was at the game and not watching the game for the first time while hearing that comment..even while watching the TV replay I wanted to punch him through my TV when he said it.

Yeah, NBC does a terrible job of promoting their product.

We went out to dinner with some friends and left the house right after Floyd's TD that put us up 21-7. So in the car, I went to Sports News Headlines - NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA, NASCAR - Scores, Game Highlights, Schedules & Team Rosters - NBC Sports and the ND game wasn't on the front page. So I clicked on college football, not on that page either, so I clicked on scores, not on the 1st page of scores, so I clicked on more and finally found a box score for the ND game.

Why in the hell wouldn't it be on the front page of NBC SPORTS??????

I remember thinking the same thing. Hammond was acting as Carlo had just pulled out a gun and shot the u$c player. Hammond is ridiculous. Carlo was just a bit to fired up like Mayock said.

I actually like Mayock...he at least seems to have a grasp of the game of football and isn't a total loss as a sportscaster. However, Hammond just brings nothing to the table. Can't we get a Notre Dame alum to pair with Mayock? What about Bettis? Surely he could fit that into his schedule. Hell, for that matter...how about Brady Quinn? He doesn't seem to have much to do right now...
