Time for the Freshman

After these past three games, I am not impressed with all of the veteran players.

DBs: Same Ole, Same Ole. Excpet Zibby and Ndukwe

- Time to get those highly touted DB's that we recruited and get them in there. Weis said that they are shut down corners, so why not put them in? Walls,Mcneil and Richardson are all freshman and are very talented.

-RB: Darius is only good on swing or side to side runs. Hes to small and slow to go up the middle. Its time to put Munir Prince and Travis Thomas in for the speed. Along with Walker for the screens and passes.

I was very impressed with Sam young yesterday. Shutting down an All american/one of the best DE's in the nation. AS A FRESHMAN. He showed up all the veterans yesterday.

If charlie keeps his word on the whole "the best players will start, no matter if your a freshman or senior" moto, then I believe we will see them in the MSU game.

Thats why I call #22 Pumpfake Wooden and #30 Can't Cover Richardson you said it THEY SUCK. Bring on the bash brothers Walls and McNeil.

The three long TDs weren't the safety's fault. We were being pounded up front and were playing our corners man to man and the QB made the right reads and threw some amazing passes. Not the result of our safeties biting on the play action

I have to disagree with you irishfloridian...they were biting on the playaction all day long...Zibby and Duke were out of position on most plays and since our LBs are awful, they were playing run support..I did not see that many blitzes out of our D...

Zibby is horrible in pass coverage...great against the run, but I believe Ndukwe provides better coverage...

We did not get pressure on the QB, I agree with you there, but the lack of LBs made Zibby and Duke play closer to the line to provide support, and that exposed our corners.

There is still a chance at a BCS bowl. I'd love for the freshmen to get a chance to learn on the job, but if they were truly better at this point, they would be playing. Weis has not been shy about playing young guys. If older players are on the field, it's because he believes them to be the best chance at a win.

The title hopes are pretty much gone. But this can still be a good season. There is still a lot on the line and this program needs the momentum that a 12-1 season can give them.

Calls for wholesale benchings is a knee-jerk reaction following a gut wrenching loss. It's time to stand back up and move on.

Since we are pretty much out of the title chase, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the freshman begin to get more playing time. At least we can start building now for 2007 (since that is going to be a down year) and for 2008 (which is going to be a rebuilding year). The only freshman I don't want to see on the field just yet are those on the O-Line. If your seniors are getting manhandled there, then our freshman have a smaller prayer. No sense risking injuries in the trenches.

At first I was going to call this a rediculous thread based on the title but looking closer, you are just saying to play Walls, McNeil and Prince. While I think it's a little silly to just turn over the starting positions to Walls and McNeil, I do think we need to see more of both, especially McNeil. It is funny all you heard during camp was how fast Prince was and he had had like 12 plays(10 against PSU in the q4). I agree we do need to inject some youth into this team and I think CW will. I think he was waiting to get through Sept then the schedule eases up a lot and we will start to see these guys..

Walls will be starting soon IMO. Aldridge, if healthy, may take a chunk of carries away from DW, especially when up against a good front 7.
