The Irish are ranked #13 in the AP poll this week heading into next weeks game against #22 Purdue.

I dont know wether to be happy or not. It seems like every time we are favored in a big game we come out losing.
I would really like to beat Purdue on their home field this season.

I am still waiting for that breakout game. I dont think we have had one yet. In all games one aspect has been good or the other. But we really havent had all aspects of the game executed consistantly in any one game. Once this happens I believe we are headed to a big bowl, if not we will lose to USC and UT.

The Washington game should have been a blow out and Wolke should had been in to start the 4th quarter.

I doubt ND will be favored in this game. I'd think it would be even or Purdue by a couple.

The line opened Purdue favored by 3.

I like the way this team plays on the road. They have a great composure on the road -- even after they give up a big play (which there are too many), they come back and play it hard and make a big play.

Amazing how far Louisville dropped; I would have thought somebody might have actually given S. Florida some credit. Must have been an ugly game, but it is better for ND if the Big East football schools looks mildly strong. That is unfortunate.

Too bad about Michigan too, but I guess it will all work out for the best if State beats them. I have to admit, I really like seeing Michigan unranked.

Yeah, when you're on the road 3 out of 4 games, you get used to it.

they need to start winning in the Bend again. I think they've had three or four straight home losses going back to last year. Not good.

Michigan's not ranked...that's great!

And Louisville...well, sometimes teams don't match up well and maybe they looked past South Florida and came in unprepared. That's on the coach...wasn't he a possibility for ND after Willingham was fired?

To paraphrase one of our dearly-beloved, 'NEWLY-CONVERTED' kool-aid drinkers....NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!!! While it's always good to see scUM down, when they lose elsewhere, it actually CHEAPENS ND's victory, as you want to beat the best.....however, scUM is reverting to their typical pattern (although quicker than anticipated) of 3-4 losses and having to settle for the Holiday/Alamo/weed eater bowl....

This is why the Douche-bags loss to Minne-ha-ha wasn't good for us.....and why we should NOT have been rooting for the Quack Attack against Univ. of Spoiled Children.

I always root for ND opponents to have 1 loss seasons. No glory in beating 0-11 teams. I'd like them to think they'd be national champions except for that loss to ND.

That said, I make an exception for UM that they have more losses than ND each season. Three or four more losses than ND this season would be nice.

Close UM losses are preferred.

I know you're all right and that the more UM loses the less impressive the Irish win looks, but there are just some teams that I can't root for, I don't care what it means for Notre Dame. I mean, rooting for Purdue and Navy when they play elswhere is one thing, but certain schools (i.e. Michigan, USC, Florida State, BC, & Nebraska) I just can't stand. I know it makes the Irish look kinda bad, or at least not as good, but I would love nothing more than to see Michigan go 6-5 this year and fall into a decade of the same mediocrity Notre Dame's been mired in for years.
