Another year and I'm not fast enough to play with the big boys. Even if we beat USC and FLorida loses I still wouldn't want to play Ohio State. Our lack of speed would be exposed again, it would do harm to the program, and Quinn doesn't need the Smith comparisions all week. Since the Heisman was rapped up when Brady lost the Michigan game. I still love my boy's and I have faith in The Mad Scientist to fix this lack of speed we have. But right now No Ohio State.

I was stunned at the amount of points those teams scored on each other.

SC could challenge both, but tOSU is the best team in America hands down. I don't see anyone beating them.

Then go tell OSU and UM that. I'm sure their boards would rather here it then us. Thanks for the "truth". What ground-breaking news. OSU & UM are REALLY good and ND would be long-shots against them? Thank you Mr. Obvious. Any other reason to post this other than to bring everyone down and try to discourage people?

I don't care if ND is a long shot, I'd still want a shot at either of them. Any competitor would. That's the "truth".

Michigan is no faster than they were last year when we beat them. USC last year was one of the fastest teams in the country. They needed the push to win.

Football is not played in a vacuum. A+B doesn't always equal C. Sometimes you play a great game. Sometimes you play a poor game. Against good teams, that can make or break you.

If it were as simple as team speed, why not just race our rb's against theirs, our tackles against theirs, our qb's....etc.

Ohio St. is fast, yes. But they are also extremely well coached, disciplined ON the field and are put in schemes that take advantage of their strengths while covering for their weaknesses. I'd bet Ted Ginn aside, Ohio St is no faster than a team such as Miami or Florida St. Yet the formers couldn't touch them if they played.

Interestingly, on a related note, has anybody else noticed the power in college football swinging back to the midwest?

Yep. And thus, no one is beating them this year.

Amen brother ! Who gives a flying f_*k how impressive they've been, Id love a shot at either one of those bastards. Bring on Michigan again, it's hard to beat a team twice the same year. I'd love to see how Charlie gameplans for them this time around, especially after just watching them throw the entire playbook at OSU.

OSU can be beat. You can't say that they are unstopable. Look at USC last year. They were the best team ever and lost the championship. Whoever plays OSU on that day, whether it is us or someone else, they always have a shot. If Brady doesn't throw that pick for a TD at the beginning of the game against Michigan, that is a different game.
I don't know, but Im ready for Saturday, it is going to be a fuckin war.

Fuck YA! Lets do this shit. Saturday will spea k volumes for our program, get ready for CW ball and watch him control the clock like last year. Ohio State can be beat but its very unlikely. We took USC last year to the wire, and they were one of the best cfb team ever, so im sure Notre Dame could beat Ohio State, and its not as difficult as everyone thinks.

I know where NYBrother is coming from. Even against USC which is arguably a step down from OSU, I'm alternately dreading the pounding we could receive and anticipating a sweet win.

But USC and the bowl game are ND & CW's chances to win the big games that ND needs to win to be back among college football's elite.

How could we beat OSU? Each ND player would need to play as well as they've played all year. Throw in a little luck and we could do it. Let's start by beating USC and holding our heads high against whatever team the bowls match us against.

Yes ! I almost posted this same thing. I'd like to see how that game turns out if Carlson catches that ball and it doesn't bounce through his hands and we go marching down the field and score. Might have changed the whole Michigan scheme, them playing catch-up rather than us. We had a bad day, $hit happens, but I bet it wont happen twice !

They beat SC on the road, all doubts about this team should be erased.

Internal and external to the fan base, I might add.

So, what you're saying is that it has been 14 years since we have been able to overcome the odds?

I do pray to God we beat USC this weekend though. This game is so important. First, I won't have to hear the USC bandwagon crap that I have to hear out in Cali, but most importantly, we need this game recruting wise, since next year will be a huge down year.

I find it weird how in two years our preception of the team has changed. Say we finish with a 9-3 or 8-4 record at worst next year, we consider it a huge down year. Before Weis came a 8-4 record would've been thought as a very good season for us. What a difference two year can make.

An ND victory would be made even more sweet by this. WAtching College Gameday Scoreboard with Mark May eating a big fat shit sandwitch and Lou handing him an ND bandwagon ticket, and those 3 asshole ND haters on ABC can all take a bite from May's sandwitch while were at it.

Can't read, can you putz?

It's a shame you have to project your sorry assed self image.

Pardon me if I don't pray to God with you so you don't have to hear crap. Now you can go back to your substantive whining about how hard it is to live in California among the Trojans.

Yea, resort to insults you pansy keyboard warrior. I didn't resort to insults in response to any of your posts, but that is your initial response.

Now go back to creating more insults, maybe it will help you feel like a bigger man to insult somebody who can't see you.

I am sorry but this Crowning Ohio State champs before December reminds me of another Ohio State game that happened in Arizona.

Miami was supposed to stop in to Arizona and pick up their National Title and wipe out Ohio State. But, that didn't happen and Sweater Vest got the Ring that year!

I like our chances if we can get a ticket. I think CW will game plan better and have the boys ready to play this time. He said he learned from his mistakes last year leading up to the Bowl.

I just want the chance. Then let CW & BQ settle it on the field.
