The predictability of inevitability

Heading into the season there are a few things we all know are just going to happen...
(Rip off of the "3 things thread" but I couldn't resist)... keep in mind it's in fun/ some very serious some not so much... and of course, feel free to add to it or debate...

1. Ohio St. fans will continue their recent heavy charge towards overtaking BC fans as the fan base most sickened with Irish Envy.

2. Oregon fans will kick and scream about what bowl they didn't get into only to watch their team lose the bowl they do get into.

3. The SEC will be home to two- three teams that will finish around 500% in the conference that would have made serious runs for titles in any other conference.

4. Kansas/ Nebraska WILL determine the big 12 north!

5. Northwestern will beat at least one team they have absolutely no business beating and become America's team for at least a week or so....

6. McCoy, McCoy or Snead.. Take your pick, will cost Texas at least one game they should win...

7. USC will still be great but see number 6, also applies here...

8. No matter what the ranking, Irish haters across the country will gripe about ND's place in the polls.

9. The ACC will continue its climb to the title of most entertaining and competitive conference in America, and will surpass the SEC very soon...

10. Arizona and Kansas both make shocking conference runs...

11. Louisville will do what everyone thought they would do last year, and everyone thinks West Virginia will do this year by running the table and ruining the competitive factor of the National title game...

12. Even if Brady Quinn smashes every single season passing record on the books and leads the Irish to the title, IF he wins the Heisman, the majority of the nation will attribute it to "media Bias"...

13. USC will hang yet another banner in the Coliseum for some "title" they decide this year that they won pre World War II... despite nothing backing their claim.

14. No matter who wins or loses the National Title Game the majority of the losing fan base will attribute the loss to the refs...

15. Fresno V Boise St. will be the most interesting nonBCS conference match up all year long.

16. Sadly Alabama's success last year will be proven to be a fluke...

17. South Carolina by year's end just may rival Notre Dame as the most hated school throughout the South.

18. Michigan will win the big ten putting to rest, at least for now, the Carr can't coach talk.

19. Drew Stanton will be the best player in the world by midseason then will fail to be even a threat for a trip to New York by season's end.

20. Notre Dame will win the National Title...

21. Yet another year will pass with my dream of a rekindling of the Catholic vs. Convict rivalry no closer to being realized than the year prior... hey, a boy can dream... drop Mich, add the U

Right now, I'm envious of them. Sure, there are aspects that I don't envy, but I'd sure like to have a recent national title and last year's Fiesta Bowl victory. (not to mention their defense)

I love watching the SEC and I do believe you're right.

Make it Ohio St, Michigan or PSU and they will be my team for that week as well.

Not if the SEC boosters have anything to do with it. Serious answer: Not if FSU and Miami continue to underachieve. I like Florida's future stock over those two right now.

Hey, I don't care if we play Louisville or St. Louis school for the Blind. As long as the Irish are on the one sideline of that game. I would like to see WVU crumble, though.

Alabama will counter with six new banners. "Hey, it says here Joe Bob Smith thought were the best team in 1953. Buy a new banner. Oh, and pick one up for that Forrest Gump run as well."

Probably true. We'll just have to hang 40 on them and leave no doubt.

I love games like this. I was really pulling for Boise over Louisville in their bowl.

I think they are improving, but the SEC is still the SEC. I'm no fan of any Shula not named Don. Then again, I'm tainted as a Bengals fan who suffered through Dave.

17. South Carolina by year's end just may rival Notre Dame as the most hated school throughout the South.

It's slightly humorous that their newfound resurgence and exposure is coinciding with Clemson's strong year. The Tigers are kicking their tails on the recruiting trail.

18. Michigan will win the big ten putting to rest, at least for now, the Carr can't coach talk.

As long as that's all they win. Well, they can win their MAC game as well.

I'm not envious, I think O$U is a very boring team to watch/follow.

It would be nice to have had a recent national title, though. But not having done shit for years will make it all the more sweet when we do win the title.
