Maybe I'm ignorant, but isn't there a rule stating that only one player can wear the same number? It's funny, and ironic that one of our best RB's and LB's are wearing the same number. Shall we call them Manti T' Allen, or Armondo Ao?

Its allowed if one plays O and the other on D and they never take the field at the same time.

Thanks, learn something new everyday. Maybe its because they are both high profile, but I don't recall two players wearing the same number. I know Kyle Rudolph wears #9, and I think Ethan Johnson wore it as well, but changed his number. Thats why I was confused. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I dont think that rule is in effect anymore. If it is then its not pushed very hard. If you watch the end of the Tulsa and ECU game, when the Hail Mary is caught in the endzone, ull see two different Tulsa defenders in the endzone with the same number. (1)

another mundane observation I made was the QB's wearing red caps. Good idea, makes it easier for the coaches to locate them on the sidelines. I don't recall ever seeing this before. Is it a BK thing?

It's actually so Crist can see the QB's as they signal in the plays. Helps differentiate them from the rest of the team.

Yeah, saw that at the game yesterday - couldn't figure it out for a long time until I started matching up numbers with caps. Good idea though.

uhh ur both right and wrong, the backup QBs ARE wearing red caps, but so are several other backups that tell each player what to do,

The backup QBs were wearing red caps because they were signaling in the plays. NDBCS and edge were correct

There were numerous backup players that were wearing red caps signaling formations....not plays most of the time. formations on offense and coverages on defense....easy way to let the coaches coach and it also teaches young players about the system....keeps them involved in the game....
