For those of you that were wondering about which numbers the incomming freshman were going to wear here's the three that have already been issued theirs.

prolly whoever the coaches want more get first choice. seriously. as some people were making fun of that one guy for wanting #2, numbers really can mean a lot to players. so I'm thinking if a 3 star and a 5 star want the same number, prolly the 5 star will get it. even if it's not really fair.

It's whoever asks first. That's why Darrin Walls got #2. I was under the understanding that he asked for it right after he commited. I would guess that Clausen and Allen both asked for their HS numbers as well. I wouldn't be suprised if that's why D.Bragg switched to #81 this year.

It wasn't that long ago that they didn't even let the players choose their numbers. I know Montana wanted #7, not #3.

I want Robert Hughes to wear #30. He is a bruiser, and the number will be open with Mike Richardson graduating. Also, Golden Tate should #10.

To bad we can't get Robert Hughes to share # 34 with James Aldridge. It seems like the perfect number for that power back type of role. Hughes would also look great in # 6 ala, the bus, and greg jones but Ray Herring stole that number too. I guess as long as he's wearing an irish uniform it doesn't really matter what number he is.

I think Hughes goes with #33 his number in high school. Umm tate #26 or #23 maybe. #10 goes to harrison smith. The new number #7 jersey is already being produced. saw it at a store, maybe they know something we don't?

#23 is still taken because Chase just reapplied for a 5th year because he's getting married this summer and his soon to be wife will be a Sr. at ND this fall. Not that our opinion counts, but if #3 wasn't going to go to Jimmy or DD I would've like to have seen it go to Golden. It would have still been similar to his HS number of 23, and I think wearing #3 at ND fits him. He seems like he's an outstanding young man that will be a good leader and still have the ability to keep everyone relaxed and in a good mood. All while being an outstanding player on the field.

one of our returning captains wears #26. somehow, I don't think tate is going to get it next year.
