This is really nothing. You have ESPN overpaying to show 2 or 3 games a year so that they will have rights to a channel if/when Texas goes independent. Texas, on the other hand, is hedging their bets so if their hand is ever forced they already have a very easy fall back to go independent.

At first I thought it was monumental, but when you read the fine print it is more "meh"

I think it's pretty cool. Of course the beginning stages of the network won't be amazing, but could you imagine Notre Dame doing something like this?

Who cares if they show only one football game a year, they can put a plethora of different programs on there that people will watch.

I'd be all over a ND football coaches show, practice reports, history pieces.

It would be interesting if Notre Dame and Texas team up decades from now and form one network broadcasting the games for each team.

Better than the superconferences senario..

Bad as they were this year, Texas wont be down long, they have the #1 recruiting class and when they start winning, the money will flow through texas like the Red River
