I am tired of paying a $170.00/month bill to receive cable TV. My family and I do not watch much TV at all. I watch sports, my wife watches HGTV and Food Network, and we have about 8 shows we watch as a family. My kids are very active so we don't subscribe to premium channels as we really don't have the time to sit in front of the TV. We get 350channels and watch ten.

What options are out there so I can cut the cable wire?

Which of these options do you have experience with and like?

Can always do Hulu, Netflix, Crackle, etc via a Roku. Do you or your kids have an Xbox or PS3? They're also on that.

I got my mom to cut her $120/mo cable bill down to a $35/month internet bill + a Roku. She has no regrets.

The only thing with this is though that you can't watch it live or actual air time correct?

We are in the same boat where i live. Our provider is comcast there prices are terrible. But they are only good cable company around. Direct tv is pretty good in our area and are reasonable but then you still have to get comcast internet so you really aren't saving much.

Not too concerned about this for shows. We DVR almost everything currently. That would not be optimal for sports though.
