let me first say I don't care where the information comes from as long as it does. That being said, how dare anybody make any accusations concerning anyone that runs this site or GH...we all are receivers of great info and we are allowed to have a forum to express our opinions without being torn down for it...the individuals that run both sites are nothing less then outstanding...everyone needs to remember that! I am not ranting and not writing in an angry tone I am simply stating fact...I for one am very proud to be able to be part of all of this and thank those individuals that have created and/or run these sites and that does include DD. I do have my (let me reiterate) my personal favorite as I am sure most of you do. Sit back enjoy and get ready for the season, its going to be fun gentlemen.

I'm not saying that these sites don't have their own connections on the inside. I am saying that there are countless times where I have read an article on IE and then come and looked at this site and seen it paraphrased. I consider that stealing the information. And I'm not saying that all of you do this, but I have seen it done here. You guys were saying that he threatened to sue back when people were posting entire articles that were premium info on his site. I don't think that was unfair on his part.

He threatened to sue even though the admin was taking them down.

And, OH BY THE WAY, anything he posts on his internal board WILL LEAK no matter what.

I agree articles should not be posted, but once he posts it paraphrasing is to be expected...and is most likely legal.

You have no idea how fast Mike knew about those two commitments. He puts everything up on the members' board before he puts articles up. Just because there wasn't some article on their commitments on the front page of IE immediately after it happened doesn't mean that Mike hadn't told the people on his board.

You are assuming that no one here is an insider on Mike's board...bad assumption.

I think you might be surprised at how many students are on this board. And, in fact, we have a couple players on this board from time to time. Last year we had some recruits who visited as well and they told some of us, more than once, that the recruiting sites were spewing BS.

:)

I read that someone was coming with Jeremy Brown from Florida, is this true, or does anyone have any info on who it might be? I would love for it to be Forston, but that could be the Sabino visit later this month as well. I don't know who it is for sure. Any thoughts?

When you say with Brown, does that mean that the unknown recruit is actually making his visit with Brown, or just around the time Brown is making it? Or was this part of your question? Just wanted to clear it up.

------Sabino I would assume. Patchan is coming and rumored that TJ Bryant will be too.

Honestly, I don't know if he is coming with or at the same time as him. It could very well be Sabino, or Patchan, or T.J. Bryant. It was on Scouts. on the Florida site. I don't have premium content, so I wasn't sure who is coming, or if they're coming together. Sorry I couldn't be of more help than that.

Some offense perhaps?

Some offense perhaps?

The Irish are in the mix with Michael Floyd, a wideout from Minnesota, and Brice Butler, another wideout from Georgia. Mike Hutton The Post Tribune
Possibly a big, quick, wideout?

Most of the good vibes sprang forth from his last visit. Apologies if most of this is re-cap.

Before he visited, he said he'd do a one day visit, go to other schools for visits, and hit South Bend on the way back, which would make a grand total of 2 days with ND.

When he got here, he changed plans and actually stayed for 3 days straight, supposedly hanging out Jimmy Clausen. On top of that, he spent some time with Ethan Johnson, who obviously committed by trip's end. Clausen makes sense, since he's a QB and Floyd's a WR, but Ethan Johnson is on defense, so hearing that pairing together raised an eyebrow or two.

After that visit, the II staff recapped the Slaughter and Johnson verbals in 4HL. They posted their writeup on the main page for all to see, and the teaser written below the title mentioned that they had "strong evidence" suggesting we'd see verbals from both McCarthy and Floyd in the near future.

With Floyd, thats pretty much the latest we've heard, but with McCarthy a bunch of the OSU posters who live in/ have "connections" to Ohio soon came out of the woodwork and were reiterating the same thing as II about him. Considering OSU is/was the main competition for McCarthy, I don't think their fans would be ecstatic about reporting his commitment to another school. I guess we won't know for certain if they're right until their forecasted commitment date arrives (either July 10th or 11th), but it appears that the II staff was on to something with at least one recruit, so it makes them a little more believable about the other.

And back to Floyd: I have yet to hear anyone from anywhere but ND say "Floyd will end up here." Minnesota fans have waived the white flag on him, the OSU guys think he's a future Domer... the only legitimate threat left out there is Florida, but the kid's list is overwhelmingly midwestern - UF's inclusion is probably a byproduct of their NC. So even if the "expect something soon" rumors are wrong, and he takes more time, is there anyone out there that we fear in Floyd's recruitment? 'Cause I don't.

Where did the T.J. Bryant info come from? That would be insane if he came and visited.

The OSU fans thinking both players are to-be-Domers is certainly a good sign, especially since they're OSU fans.

Well it's about half and half when it come to McCarthy. Dan is supposed to be announcing at the camp taking place at his high school on the 10th and Cheaty McSweaterVest is supposed to be there. I've heard that Dan wants to tell him in person that he isn't comming to O$U, but it could always be a bad sign that SweaterVest is going to be there when he announces too, so who knows?

If true, that's pretty classy.

I'm not sure, since the poster I spoke with was confused at first about some of the dates (when the Mooney Camp would be, and therefore when Tressel would be attending), but he thought that Tressel would be in town the 8th and 9th, so hearing about a verbal on the 10th wouldn't be a bad sign methinks. Its not like we have to wait that long though.

Does anyone have any info on when Floyd might make his pick for college? I don't know if longer is better or not on this one. I know most of his schools are here in the midwest, however, with Meyer at Florida, I wouldn't put anything past him and his ability to get players from around the country. I will feel better when Floyd gives his commitment to us, until then, I'll wait patiently.

Sounds like the staff are making him wait for who? Oh maybe McCarthy (Probably commits tomorrow), Jeremy (Probably commits on his trip) Sabino (Could verbal on his visit, he'll still have a spot anyway) Filer (A spot no matter what.) If they are waiting on him for these guys to send off bad vibes, I don't think it's going to happen. If we were to take an RB in this class we could still take.....

2 more DB's
2 more WR's
2 more LB's

-----and that would add to a total of 24...which is borderline....I don't think this news is for ND though. He hasn't listed us in very long (Let alone his top 10) and all of a sudden after he visits Michigan and sets an announce date to commit he suddely feels Irish? After never visiting South Bend? I don't buy it. Maybe this is the news Mike Frank was referring to, but it sounds a little sketchy.

McGuffie would be a nice pickup in a class that currently has no RB's. I'm not sure where he is on the coaches' list of running backs, but regardless, I do think we need a RB.

There are so many more guys I want, and so little room. This should be a good thing, but it's causing me grief. :banghead2

-------If we were in the SEC we could take 50 players and not have these damn problems, but I prefer our recruits to be educated and dare I say "Qualified for college" lol. Damn this unstoppable recruiting force that is ND!

Remember, Irishknight, although we may have high graduation rates, our academic integrity is lower than that of Michigan. And if we were in the SEC, we would lose every game every year because we aren't used to playing a tough schedule. I mean, for God's sake, we play Navy every damn year.
