He said earlier he would be at Oklahoma next year. How much more definitive is there than that? At this point, if he somehow wound up at Notre Dame next year, he would be just behind Nick Saban in my mind as the most bald faced liar in the history of coaching.

I think Swarbrick, being the good lawyer he is, told the truth to the letter of the law, if not the spirit, and did not perjure himself. I believe he hasn't contacted any candidate directly. But do I believe he's made back-alley inquiries? Abso-friggin-lutely. He'd be remiss not to of.

And I never said Stoops wasn't lying. All I'm saying is, if he was lying and comes to Notre Dame next season, he'd be going against definitive statements he's made more than any coach I can think of in recent memory other than Nick Saban. Unlike Brian Kelly, who has side-stepped all the direct questions and made no statements remotely as definitive about him staying as Stoops.
