* T-Rob is limited, but if he were healthy he'd be competing for the all-important Left Tackle job. Instead, it's between Romine and Duncan.

* Goodman might get some snaps at QB for the 3rd QB spot in case young Montana can't hang.

*McNeil and Blanton are the starting corners right now, which is only a bit surprising b/c that means Walls isn't the starter (YET). Once Walls gets acclimated it seems a foregone conclusion he'll start.

* Weis and co. are really high on Jamoris Slaughter.

* The coaches for the B & G game will be Justin Tuck, Reggie Brooks, Jeff Faine and Bertrand Berry.

* Aldridge, not Hughes, has already been talked to about moving to fullback, if he doesn't crack the 2 deep...

It is no secret that I am very big on a guy like Jeff Faine having more access to this program. Having him as a coach for the B&G Game is a great move. If you want to instill some nastiness and rage in to the current OL players, Faine is the guy to do it. He is one tough and mean SOB and, in my mind, is a prototypical lineman. I hope he can talk to these guys a bit at the game and give them a little glimpse of the violence needed to play the postition.

I have not paid much attention to who on this site favors or disapproves of Charlie on the sideline. IMHO, we would be the laughingstock of college football if Charlie were up in the press box all season. If people are so amp'd to run him out of town, why would we want him to coach from the box if it is perceived he has a 'decided schematic advantage' from there? The coach is the foundation of a team, and needs to be on the sideline for many reasons.

Let him succeed or let him fail, but let him be the HC, not the OC.

I know it will change, but John Ryan starting? Ugh. I really can't see Motta holding on to a starting spot yet either.

Guys,
Do not put to much weight into these early spring depth charts. They will change more than I change underwear. If anything, the suprises are to send a message to certain players. Only early season prediction I will give as my lead pipe lock is this.
Our starting corners will be Walls and McNeil. I think Blanton is a great player, but he is not better than McNeil. McNeil and Blanton are actually about equal. So, here are the difference makers, experience, communication with Walls and senior should get start of sophmore if all things equal.

Yea I agree. These depthcharts are only temporary. I also believe Walls and McNeil will be our starting corners.

we will be playing a lot of nickelback this year so I would expect McNeil, Blanton, and Walls to be on the field at the same time a lot.

That being said, Walls was the second best player (to Laws) on our team two seasons ago...I have a feeling he will take his spot back...neither McNeil or Blanton have proved they can lock down a receiver like Walls did.

CW on the sidelines... a near, almost definite. Sort of.

"Weis, though, said his knee problems still could force him to the press box at times. He also said he could reconsider his decision.
"As (Bill) Parcells said years ago, I reserve the right to change my mind," he said."

Did he just order a giant waffle? So if he goes up there, it will be the knee problems, not the clearer view on a sputtering offense. Let's all fall for that together.

but i guess a larger fellow needs more space to make wiggle room.

He he he.

My sentence in Hell will be Nickelback, Creed, the SC fight song, and the Jonas Brothers on a continuous loop for all eternity.
