Being a huge Cubs fan, THe concern with the Shark is the high number of hits and lack of Ks, between he is drawing comprasions to some to anoter pitcher who had the same numbers is the minors. Don't know if you have ever heard of him..John Smoltz

According to some of my sources there is still a Chance the Shark will be called up once his tema is done with the playoffs just to get the experience of being with a major league club...He would only pitch in blowouts or extra, extra inning games.

wow, that would be interesting. As excited as I am to see him in the show, I'd be a little more cautious about bringing him up already. Do you think the Cubs would really benefit from him now? Regardless of us all being fans of Jeff, would it be a smart thing if it was anybody?

I think they should wait, pitchers can be ruined by being brought up to early.

Part of an Article from Cubs.com

"One of the pitchers promoted to Tennessee during the season was right-hander Jeff Samardzija, who went 3-3 for the Smokies. All three of his losses were by one run.

The former Notre Dame wide receiver began the year at Class A Daytona. Listach said it was a good idea to bump him up a level.

"He can hit, too," Listach said of Samardzija, who had to deal with opposing teams playing fight songs from Notre Dame opponents when the Smokies were on the road. "

That is dirty..Imaging trying to pitch and they play crap like the USC Fight Song, I would probably bean everyone
