Social media makes its mark on recruiting - ESPN

Pretty interesting article that touches base on Twitter, FB and how recruiting has changed because of it.

One of the quotes that stood out to me:

"The challenge for our office is ensuring that no individual is involved in the recruiting process other than our coaches, including on social media," said Jason Leonard, executive director of compliance at Oklahoma. "But this can be very burdensome considering the number of people on social-networking sites who are also fans of the university.

"It's becoming an ever-increasing burden."

One that isn't going away anytime soon.

It's pretty scary to think about how accesible these kids are to the fan bases and how it's is just the beginning of this movement. What will it evolve into?
