Seeing rumors that now the Mavs want Rondo and the C's want Nowitzki.
Already have the Nets 1st rounder and the Clippers first round plus their own.
Are they hoping to get Wiggins and Parker or what.

Uh yes. They are definitely blowing it up. Not sure how someone could come to any other conclusion after the last week, regardless of whether they trade Rondo or not (although I don't doubt they will if they can). I'm sure they want to finish next season with the best lottery odds they can. Next year's draft is loaded. They do have the Nets' pick, but that won't be a great one. They have the Clippers' 2015 pick, not 2014. They clearly want to start the rebuild through the 2014 draft, but they also have extra picks in 2015 (Clippers), 2016 and 2018 (Nets). They also have some decent chips to deal in Rondo (talent) and Gerald Wallace (whose expiring contract will be attractive in a couple years). They also have some potentially good pieces they want to keep in Sullinger and Olynyk (although I'm not huge on Olynyk). In general I think the Celts could be in good shape going forward, provided they can lose enough games this year to get a potential franchise player in next years's draft.

Why would they want Dirk? He's old and beyond his prime. You can't build a team around him anymore. If anything they want to move Rondo to get younger or picks. Dirk can''t help them.

If they took back Dirk it would be for cap reasons and not for basketball reasons, but that sounds like a rumor started to get clicks on espn.com. It would make no sense for Dallas to trade for Rondo and give up Dirk, and it would make no sense for Boston to trade Pierce and KG and let Doc walk if they could have gotten Dirk for Rondo.

Yea it looks like right now it will be an Atlantic Division race between the Celts and 76ers for that worst record and best lotto odds, with Charlotte also being horrible and in contention. But as it stands right now, I don't know how the 76ers will win more than 18 games. If they don't get a top 2 pick it will be another long decade for basketball in Philly.

Rondo would be the perfect player to keep IMO. Get Wiggins, Parker, and a big guy and you are looking at a team that in a couple years that will be deadly.

Dirk has a 'no trade' clause anyway. There is no way he would want to go to Boston. I can't see why the Celts would want him anyway if they are trading Garnett and Pierce. More draft picks for Rondo maybe.

C's have 6 first rounders in the next 3 drafts. They will not use them where they come up ala Belichick. I'm certain trades will occur but they have some chips to deal w now and they are not going to be good this year. They shouldn't however be as bad as Philly. Rondo, J Green, Bass, Sullinger and a few others should get them 30 wins. Rumors of Rondo for Dirk are laughable.

Well if there were even any talks regarding Dirk leaving, that means they have to know Howard isn't even considering them anymore. As far as Rondo, I like him, but not sure to many other players who have played with him do. There were comments made about how he interacts in the locker room, and how he is pretty much the opposite of a leader. If they are blowing it up and will have a load of young players in the near future, this won't be good with him on the team. There needs to be strong Vet presence on his team for him to work well. Doc, Peirce, and KG weren't enough to keep him together at times.
