On Espn 2 they had the High School Under Armor skills challenge and I turned it on just to see the Defensive Lineman skills challenge and out of 5 other defensive lineman Omar Hunter finished DEAD LAST by far too. Just thought I would share with ya.

After reading the headline, I rolled my eyes, thinking it was bad news. It was amusing however.

To Omar's credit...even though I hate to give him any...the other guys were DE not DT and two of them that were in 1st and 2nd were undersized! Omar's size was impressive however, he seemed to take extra effort drawing attention to himself something we did not need!!! I cannot wait until tomorrow afternoon...Walker & Robinson come on down!!!

I suppose you want us to forget about the fact that he's been one of the most dominate players all week.

It's not a matter of forgetting, it actually makes virtually no difference to us anymore. He is NOT an ND guy, his loss. I don't wish him failure, but I sure will not shed a tear if he fails from here on out.

Same here, I think it's just funny how some ND fans are wanting to act as if he's overrated all of a sudden.

He's a stud of a player. I won't call that into question.

All I will say is this Braxton Cave handled him pretty well today including a great pancake block early in the game. Omar will be a great player but it was nice to see Cave was up to the challenge.

I have had enough Omar Hunter to last a lifetime already...

He backed out of his ND commitment like a coward with a poorly thought out excuse. Pressure does not build character, it reveals it. He may go on to be an awesome player, but ND does not need him so badly that anyone should care any more...

Quite frankly, of all the de-commits and near-misses in the last 3 years of recruiting the one I wish ND had more than any others is Everson Griffen...THAT is one bad man! Omar may eventually join him in that, but not yet and until he plays in D1 and shows that he will live up to the potential, then I don't care at all about him any more...

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment expressed by JUNKHEAD. Also read where Omar committed to FL before December and was apparently told to keep it secret as long as possible. And it says a lot about his character to pretend he was considering USC and Auburn when he already commited to FL before officially decommiting from ND. Perhaps he was overwhelmed with the intelligence and moral integrity of the ND recruits and felt more comfortable with the Florida players. Having said that, he will likely be a terror on the football field and am glad we don't have to play against him.

It is unfair to critizice Omar Hunter all of a sudden because he is no longer Irish. He might be the best defensive player in the nation and just because he is no longer committed to us it doesnt mean we should criticize him. We lot a sickening good player and we must feel bad but fortunately there is a lot of talent still on team to aliviate that pain.

He's definitely not the best defensive player in the nation.

He's not even the best DT. That doesn't mean he's not a great player. He definitely is. But he's not the best defensive player in the nation by a longshot.

he could b the best defensive player in the nation. He is not listed as the best because of 2 reasons

1 marcuas fortson plays with the team that was the state champion

2 he is slightly undersized at 6 1/2 feet.
