As far as I know there haven't been any new updates on the situation. When I hear something I'll let you guys know.

Thanks Gip. It would be welcome news if Baldwin, Robinson, Page decided to join the ND family. I don't like silent verbals, so whoever is keeping quiet, it's time to speak out.

I really think the term silent should be replaced with "close to" as Baldwin is close to giving his commitment but hasn't yet.

There is a difference. For instance Fleming was a silent for several weeks before he made his commitment public. For all we know Baldwin might have already commited but either can't or doesn't want to announce before the end of his Sr. season so he won't be a distraction.

I don't mind it if it's for the right reasons.

That's what I'm saying. I think we have 21 commitments to date. I don't think Baldwin has committed yet therefore he could not be silent.

Gip if he is indeed waiting for his season to end, he could miss out on that last spot. Word has it that Gerrell may commit on his visit, which means that Baldwin could either miss the boat with a win, or announce the day that Gerell visits. My thinking is, whose verbal gets taken. Weis said he only wants three wide receivers, does he take both? The pressure is on someone, something should shake up by Wednesday if that's the case.

That's why I say that maybe he did commit, but they just haven't announced it yet. I don't know if he has or not, and if he has what he reason's are for waiting. I'm just throwing out possible options.

For those of you that still don't know or haven't figured it out by now this was Jon Baldwin. CW thought he would be able to get him passed the admissions department his Jon worked really hard, but their was apparently a problem with his ACT and Admissions wouldn't clear him. Which from what I've heard caused Jon to become fustrated with ND and that's why they were dropped. Although from what I've seen ND would still take him if things were to change in the future, but that doesn't appear likely at this point. Best of luck to him whereever he goes. My guess is that he'll end up at Pitt.

Oh BTW, ND now has another one and but it shouldn't be that hard to figure out who it is.

Hrm.... now I am just confused. My assumption is it's TRob you are talking about. (sidenote: how about Trobdor as his nickname - 'burninating all the Trojans')

I could make it far worse if you want me too?

I was not referring to TR with this comment. He is the other obvious one that I spoke of though.

I'm going to just post it because that link initially sent me to a post about old German woman porn.

Take this for what you will but a pretty reliable poster on rivals said that TRob is the silent commit (holding off on the announcement). Walker is really thinking about Notre Dame. Playing with Clausen and Crist intrigues him. We had Baldwin locked up but he is disappointed that Charlie could not get him through admissions so is moving on. Page likes ND but is still worried about distance. ND thinks they can convince him though. Ryan Williams was scared off when Jonas verballed. Gray is still in the picture but saw Hughes make big strides and is unsure whether he would play early. Milton Knox has been getting messages from Crist to come play at ND. Milton is high on ND. But the poster said he didn't think he would get an offer though. The kid from Compton is interested in ND. And finally, he said there are 3 silent verbals for the class of 2009 (didn't say who but I'm guessing Golic Jr. is one of them). Again this guy has a history of being reliable but I won't jump for joy unless it actually happens.
