He has to get it done this year or he should go. Word here in SEC country is that Urban Meyer denies any interest in the ND job. We all know what that REALLY means.
The word here in SEC country ...?
Who besides Finebaum and Spurrier? Both of whom have a penchant for innuendo and sticking in the knife and twisting. Finebaum will take one side of an issue one day and if there's on controversial discussion on his call in show he can change sides like a chameleon to spark the controversy himself. He has no show without controversy. Spurrier played headgames with Phil Fulmer and Tennessee (and other opponents) for years:
Tennessee
"You can spell Citrus without "U. T."
"I know why Peyton came back his senior year, he wants to be a three-time Citrus MVP"
Bama
"In 12 years at Florida, I don't think we ever signed a kid from Alabama, but I hear the scholarships they were giving out there were worth a heck of a lot more than ours"
UGA
"Is Ray Goff still the head coach there?" or "Ray Goof."
Auburn about a dorm fire that burned 20 books
"but the real tragedy was that fifteen hadn't been colored yet."
I don't know if Spurrier was the first but he never hesitated about referring to FSU as
"Free Shoes University."
Spurrier will say most anything to get an edge on an opponent.
So besides Finebaum and Spurrier (and the people that listen to the show) who are all the people with the inside skinny?
We talked this topic to death in the preseason. Use the IrishEnvy Search function and you can find the threads and a bunch of articles all coming back to Finebaum and/or Spurrier.
