Two weeks before Washington lost at Notre Dame, the Huskies upset USC, 16-13. Having played both teams, and coached at USC, Sarkisian believes Notre Dame's talent level remains closer to his current team than his former one.

"I don't know. I kind of thought they would be a physically better-looking team," Sarkisian said. "We kind of went toe-to-toe with them and we shouldn't be able to do that, in reality. It would be interesting to see if USC's physical dominance shows up. In my opinion, it should. That doesn't mean it does. Our 11 guys and SC's 11, SC's are a lot better."

This from a team who also went toe to toe with USC? I don't understand why he thinks it's ok to go toe to toe with USC but not ND. We left at least 15 points off the board against them. The score should not have even been close.

I do agree that our talent isn't as good as USC but I feel we are closer to USC than Washington.

Sarkisian is playing the political game. He "owes" Carroll, for promoting him from QB coach to Offensive Coordinator. Sarkisian didn't have the resume to be named Offensive Coordinator at 'SC. He had a grand total of 7 years of coaching experience, when he was named the USC Offensive Coordinator. How many other elite programs make a guy with only 7 years of coaching experience a Coordinator? Carroll took a chance on him. Carroll was probably also instrumental in getting him an interview at Washington. So Sarkisian is saying all the right things, to repay Carroll for fast tracking his coaching career.

He's also supporting HIS Conference's #1 team.

well hes a hypocrite because everything he said about ND applies to USC but 5 times worse. So Peteys blow boy Sark shouldve either applied the statement to both ND and SC or just kept his f'in mouth shut.

They shouldn't be able to go toe to toe with ND, but they did. They also shouldn't be able to play toe to toe with USC, but they did, and won. I either read that article wrong, or it just plain makes no sense.

It doesn't make sense. He beat SC. He's kind of discrediting his own team. That being said, they shouldn't have been able to hang with ND. We have GOT to erase the mental mistakes in the red zone (i.e. - false starts, illegal formations, holding, etc.). Penalties cannot kill drives Saturday.

Seems like he's trying to hype up his own coaching more than anything
