They started the season playing The Murray State Racers, who after taking their beating [check] went on to play 5-5 the rest of their season in The Ohio Valley Conference.

Week two, they actually played a weaker foe in The Savannah State Tigers. Who ultimately would finish their season 1-10, 0-8 and dead last in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play. But give them credit for scheduling Edward Waters, beating them by a score of 42-35. By the way, if you go to Savannah State's ESPN page, Edwards Waters doesn't even have a page. I had to google it to find out that they're a historically black college in Jacksonville, Florida with a current enrollment of 839 (per their website).

Add in the 3-8 South Florida Bulls of Big Least Fame and you get three out of conference games with a combined record of 9-24 in OVC, MEAC and BE play (tell me those conference acronyms don't look odd and foreign to you).

So for the ACC stepping up it's collective game to keep Florida State in conference: That's ****ing bullshit. Florida State needs to blame themselves for their ****** S.O.S. They wanted to write checks to a get them an undefeated National Championship run and got what they deserved.

To put it mildly, the ACC loses absolutely nothing in UVA. The idea that UVA and Maryland carry a "media market" is crazy... UVA has ZERO fans and is no good any sport but lacrosse (and occasionally baseball and soccer). Maryland has very few fans as well and is average at basketball/horrendous at football.

GT? I mean... is that something? I don't know but I don't think so. All of these teams are no more relevant than Illinois or Indiana and won't bring big viewership with them... is this just to justify BTN up and down the east coast? Or is it to force Notre Dame's hand?

Anyways... bottom line is as long as FSU and Virginia Tech stay in the ACC it's no biggy. Louisville and Cinci are arguably upgrades over Maryland and UVA... with GT being the only loss that might "hurt"... Tech is what carries the Virginia/DC market.

In all seriousness ... Is this bad for us if it happens? I had UM fan arguing with me today, said Delaney is trying to disassemble ACC for many reasons, including us possibly going there.

Where it is bad for ND, is if it is the first step on the path to four 16 team Superconferences. If that happens, then ND will almost certainly be forced to join one of those conferences. THAT, in my mind, is the worst case scenario for all of this expansion.

Where it also could turn ugly is if these teams keep fleeing our schedule could look like Duke, Wake Forest, Boston College,NCSU, Syracuse. How about that Juggernaut of schedule.

For the B1G, I think this realignment is more about academic research, TV contracts, and regional expansion than basketball or football prowess. They brought in Maryland for East coast viewership and top level research facilities. Notre Dame would do well to keep in close contact with Delaney and the B1G. It would be a much better fit than the ACC IMO. FWIW these moves also allow the B1G to expand their influence further in East coast markets and recruiting.

By doing this the B10 is positioning itself to be the weakest of the 4 major conferences... If the ACC truly gets raided it becomes like the old BE and we reduce our obligation to 2 or 3 games a year. We really can't lose. The only way we can lose is by tying ourselves to the B10 brand... because it's going downhill quickly.

It's not at all "****ing bullshit." Don't be an *******.

Bama played W. Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, and W. Carolina. I'll skip the flowery language and just tell it how it is. FSU tried to pull what SEC schools pull every year. Unfortunately for them the ACC was terrible this year. If they hadn't lost to NC State by 1 point, they'd be in the conversation right now. Had they gone undefeated with their bullshit schedule they would be in the big game with us.

UGA played Buffalo, Florida Atlantic, and Georgia South.

The problem comes when you lose 1 or 2 games. Then, when you're sitting amongst 1 loss teams, you're relying on in-conference scheduling to lift you up. That's exactly what the SEC does every year. The problem is the ACC isn't good enough (or respected enough) to schedule this way.

Thus, the ACC better step up there game or FSU might find a conference where they can get more respect for their in-conference wins like the Big 12.

FSU needs to win out in the ACC to go to the NC... they'll get us on the schedule now for credibility. But really for them UF random good ACC team and ND or another OOC strong team is a good enough schedule.

BIG12 is no stronger than the ACC. Somehow from the middle of the country out to the west no one plays defence.
