Yeah, no kidding. Get the kid healthy. At least this one is in now way related to the hip injury. I'm telling you folks, this kid will be a good one.

I don't think so. If the injuries were related, I'd worry about durability. But you can't relate a dislocated hip to a broken collarbone. From folks that were at the game, the hit that took out his hip would have hurt a lot of people.

At 6-4, he is carrying what, 185 or 190 lbs?

Probably just needs to bulk up with a college weightlifting regimen.

I hear Notre Dame has a pretty good guy for that kind of thing.

Can someone say Ron Powlus -- broken collarbone. This is not an out for 3-4 weeks type of injury.

As someone who knows, I can say that a fractured collarbone is at first excruciatingly painful, but I think he should be able to begin lifting in 4-6 weeks.
I have broken my wrist and blown out my ankle, but the broken collarbone was by far the most painful.

I broke my collar bone when i was a young teen, no biggie IMO. The first few days were very painful, after that I didn't feel any pain really, and had that sling thing they tie around you off in a month.

I just hope this kid isn't injury prone.

Ron Powlus was a QB so his situation was a little different, I remember playing baseball and my throwing motion was way off because of the broken collar bone I had, coach fixed that problem rather quickly though. This shouldn't be a problem for Parris

SBT Report that this is the second time Parris broke his collarbone. Not a good sign.

I believe he first hurt it at Michigan State. He has had it broken 2-3 times now since being in Detroit also. Every time I see or hear about this kid, it is about him being hurt.

So when I think of Parris, Rogers immediately comes to mind.

Regardless if He is injury prone or not we won't be seeing him much this year with all the practice and reps he will be missing

If this is a 3-6 week injury, he won't miss any practice.

although two collarbone fractures are unusual, i have seen some pretty serious collisions on the basketball court when one or both of the players weren't looking. I'm starting to wonder if he's that wreckless type of guy that will sacrifice his body to make a play. If that's the case, some strength conditioning - and pads - should fix the injury bug.

Or a big plastic bubble, "The WR in the Plastic Bubble."

Collarbones are not a nice injury, and a very hard place to heal correctly. I suspect that this will reduce his flexibility, and this brings back memories of Brad Muster who used to play FB for the Bears. Excellent player, but very injury-prone. I think durability should be a very grave concern here, given his frame, and the nature of the 2 recent injuries.

I think he's definately has to Redshirt now and take the whole year to rehab and get that shoulder back to how it was before the first time he broke it. I think this kid could be a stud if he stays healthy.

Mike Goolsby anyone?

2 collarbone fractures kept him out for almost 18 months

I think the kid is done before he started, if he does come back to 100% I think he will be very timid with all the injuries he has had. Now with all that said let him prove me wrong....but I am not holding my breath.

I agree with you, I hope he dosn't develope some kind of mental thing though! It is almost just like a knee injury in that sense.

He'll be fine. He's far from done. He'll be a damned good WR at Notre Dame.
