Just how well did Rivals recruiting statistics perform
against 2009 margins of victory and winning percentages?

We compared 2009 season summary statistics of av MOV and
% win of 120 teams to Rivals 4yr-running recruiting data
(120row/6column database). The correlations were not as
stong as years past...Tom

The average differences or changes in win percentage
and scoring margins measured in the changes in the
Rivals statistics.

If you take the win % and MoV changes as 100%, you
would note an average 37.64% and 46.25% change in
the respective Rivals statistic.

The number accurately reflects Rivals judgement of
the contribution of recruiting to the bottom line.

However, it does not imply that high Rivals numbers
'cause" higher win percentages or scoring margins.
