Richard Jackson, WR from Florida, appears to have set October 15th as his official visit date to South Bend. It seems that anyone on the ND master list is looking at the USC game as the date to be in town. That game is of urgent importance on many levels for the ND Football program.

Jackson has stated that based on his top 5, the depth charts where he can see himself being the best fit are Miami and Notre Dame. Interesting....

Jackson is probably a long shot....not sure ND can compete with Miami on this one, but they're right there in the hunt.

Weis is keeping these kids interested. If he can get them on campus, I think ND will have a very good chance with just about anyone.

Offensive tackle Sam Young also stated that ND is at the top of his list. He said the campus is even more impressive than you'd imagine in person. Likes Weis' approach to recruiting and the no nonsense attitude he takes.

A Brown verbal today would keep the momentum going....things are moving in a positive direction on many fronts.

ND wins that game, eyebrows of many young men will be raised all over America. Hopefully they'll take care of the games they play before that one.

The latest on Richard Jackson:

Jackson said that two schools currently stand out for him.

"Miami and Notre Dame," he said. "Those are my top two."

The No. 10-ranked wide receiver according to Rivals.com already had an official visit to Notre Dame scheduled for Oct. 15. He has now also set one to Miami.

Is Brown making a decision today?

Negative Ghost Rider. He's taking visits. ND is one of them. But he likes ND and Miami as his top two.

We need Jackson. We need a good WR to set this class over the top. And if he did come to the greatest college i think he would play right way.

Jackson is superior to Parris and Gallup in terms of skill at this point. No question.

He would play right away once Stovall, McKnight and Shelton all graduate.

Jackson, Hord and Parris would be deadly.

well i've read a few places where miami isn't recruiting jackson as hard, i guess they feel they can land better WRs.

To my knowledge, no verbals are forthcoming. The latest on WR Richard Jackson is that he is visiting Nebraska, but his top two schools are ND and Miami.

That is all I know at this point.

The Sergio Brown waters are quiet as of now.

I read that the next commits will be during the season. Five possible recruits are visiting ND for the USC game! That's gonna be a big game both on and off the field!

Brown is setting visits now. He likes ND, Illinois, UCLA, Minnesota and Nebraska. He's seen ND and U of I.

Michigan is now pushing hard for Sergio Brown as well. No offer yet. ND has lost one Brown to UM already. Hopefully it won't be another.

UM is all over both guys. Walls is an absolute must. It would be critical to get at least one safety in the class as well.

Terrance Austin, Matt Caruffel, Toryan Smith, James Aldridge, Richard Jackson and Darrin Walls are the ones slated to visit on the 15th for the USC game.

I'd take those five in a heartbeat. Aldridge will just be hanging out.

Aldridge probably won't just be hanging out.

I would bet he is going to be whispering in their ear every chance he gets about how if they came to ND they could make history together :)

I hope he does. I'm more concerned with getting offensive linemen. Aldridge being at the game is nice, but he's already on board.

If he is going to whisper sweet nothings in anyone's ear, start with Carufel and work your way around.

Add Sam Young to that list on the 15th.

It will be Notre Dame or Miami for Jackson. The Cane receiver coach's daughter is very close with Jackson's sister.

He wants to major in history.

ND does have a history program...last I had heard it was rather successful in getting students into law school

I was being sarcastic, but the arts & letters programs are all pretty strong and would be a great means by which one could get into a professional school like law.
