Oh no I didn't!

Here is my opinion on the QB situation

Rees: Mentally has had the edge over Hendrix but lacks toughness. Once he gets hit he starts to cheat on throws and not step into them and misses by a mile. I think that teams are savvy to hitting him early to throw him off his game. That kid needs to bulk up and get some toughness. Throws into coverage a lot. Shows flashes of brilliance at times and other times could be mistaken for a UCLA QB.

Hendrix: No doubt this kid has an arm but I don't really know if he is the answer long term. I mean all it takes is one shot and he is out of the game. He stepped into a game where Stanford game planned for Rees and it totally threw them off a bit. He was more efficient running than passing. Got garbage yards at the end of the game. I do feel that he was more effective in this game, but not sure he is the better option for other teams. I guess if Kelly gives him the nod my opinion will change, but for now I am still unsure.

I seriously do not think switching QB's game after game is healthy for this football team. I mean Rees had a bad game but so did Hendrix. Only reason Hendrix was more productive was because of his threat to run. Hendrix was basically playing against a 2 deep defense when running the ball. Stanford blitzed and he was sacked. I really think that once Stanford got the lead they played deep and gave ND everything underneath. They did not really gamble on defense at all in the second half. Do you guys really think that Hendrix is better than Rees based on a half?

I mean you have to give Hendrix the next start, but I am still a bit uncertain about him longterm.

Thoughts?

Not sure what you've seen from Hendrix to say that Rees is better "mentally" than him. Or what you mean specifically by mentally "having an edge"

Ability to check out of a play at the LOS. Reading a defense presnap. Reading the coverage. If you read it correct I said HAS.

But is Hendrix performance smoke in the mirrors. I mean, this was a look that Stanford did not prepare for which opened up the passing game for him. Also, Stanford had a pretty hefty lead which allowed them to play cover 2 and drop backers to play a no big play defense.

Has or has not Tommy's play lately been hot garbage?? He can do things on the field with his feet and his arm that Tommy just can't do. Hendrix has a cannon of an arm, which he displayed tonight, not even a question his arm strength is better. Andrew also has the ability to elude LB and DB and out run some, Tommy NOT SO MUCH!!!!!!! <------understatement of the year Andrew showed the ability to hit Michael Floyd in stride down the sideline which Tommy hasn't been able to do in almost 2 years. I've rooted for Tommy I've tried to talk him up, but he's not getting any better in fact he's going the other direction. Smoke n mirrors right now is better than looking in the mirror and knowing exactly what u are with Tommy.

ND won the second half. To say that Hendrix doesnt have the same mental toughness .....really? He won his first half of football against the sixth rated team in the nation...not a bad start.

Stanford has played against several teams with mobile QBs so it is not a huge stretch to change defensive schemes.......you think they were no prepared.....the difference is that when you play a QB that is mobile and fast you have to play against the run and hedge your bets. That is what you get when the QB can move and throw. With Tommy they didnt have to respect his running ability.

Hendrix gives the option to run it, period. That is the only thing we know about Hendrix at this point. Saying that, its a huge advantage.
