Oh no I didn't!
Here is my opinion on the QB situation
Rees: Mentally has had the edge over Hendrix but lacks toughness. Once he gets hit he starts to cheat on throws and not step into them and misses by a mile. I think that teams are savvy to hitting him early to throw him off his game. That kid needs to bulk up and get some toughness. Throws into coverage a lot. Shows flashes of brilliance at times and other times could be mistaken for a UCLA QB.
Hendrix: No doubt this kid has an arm but I don't really know if he is the answer long term. I mean all it takes is one shot and he is out of the game. He stepped into a game where Stanford game planned for Rees and it totally threw them off a bit. He was more efficient running than passing. Got garbage yards at the end of the game. I do feel that he was more effective in this game, but not sure he is the better option for other teams. I guess if Kelly gives him the nod my opinion will change, but for now I am still unsure.
I seriously do not think switching QB's game after game is healthy for this football team. I mean Rees had a bad game but so did Hendrix. Only reason Hendrix was more productive was because of his threat to run. Hendrix was basically playing against a 2 deep defense when running the ball. Stanford blitzed and he was sacked. I really think that once Stanford got the lead they played deep and gave ND everything underneath. They did not really gamble on defense at all in the second half. Do you guys really think that Hendrix is better than Rees based on a half?
I mean you have to give Hendrix the next start, but I am still a bit uncertain about him longterm.
Thoughts?
