This just in!

The Redskins released a statement saying:

FVCKIN OUCH!!!

This deal for the #2 pick can't be officially finalized until tomorrow at 4pm when the new season begins. I wonder if this 36 million dollar F up will change anything?

I wonder that too. This is TOTAL bullshit. Since when can you make retroactive rules ~2 years after teams made moves that were approved at the time by the commissioner's office at the time? This is the equivalent of throwing a kegger and then two years later they make alcohol illegal and then come by and fine you for the kegger you threw back in the day.

The single most ironic part of this is that the contract the Redskins are being punished over is Albert Haynesworth.... a guy who basically conned the Redskins out of a $20 million bonus check and then refused to play in the defense or work hard. He is no longer on the team (obviously) and cost the organization a ridiculous amount of money... yet they're going to "deduct" that money we got conned out of from our salary cap for this year.... just ridiculous!

The best part? The NFL can't call it a "violation" because no rules were violated and is hiding behind the guise of "competitive balance" when the contract they're upset about applies to a player who's not on the team. Basically, you have a bunch of owners who don't like Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder and are giving them a "**** you" because they can... even though ZERO rules were broken. If I were the Redskins I'd sue the league.

Don't worry....As Danny boy told reporters after another win in court against those pesky native americans:

"I have more money, and better lawyers"

Between him and Jerry...it's a match made in heaven to take on the NFL.

Pierre Garcon just announced he plans to sign with the Skins. So that looks to be our WR add. Makes some sense as he is 3 years younger than VJax.

I hate the Josh Morgan pickup though if that goes through. Another guy from the DMV, but I've been so unimpressed with the former 6th round pick since he's been in the league. I wouldn't understand this unless it came very cheap and we are going to cut almost all of our current WRs.

Not Official but agreed to terms

Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan in Washington reports the Redskins have agreed to terms with WR/KR Eddie Royal.
Targeting three new receivers, Redskins are pushing to sign Josh Morgan to go with Royal and Pierre Garcon. A favorite of Mike Shanahan's going back to Denver, Royal is a candidate to play the slot and pitch in on returns. Santana Moss' roster spot now appears to be in jeopardy.

I think RGIII is a steal!! Washington finally did something right. I predict ten and six. They signed p. Garson (?$pelling?) today.

Josh is a waste of money imo. We couldhave used that 6 million a year for a db,ol,fletcher.

We spent $6 mil on Josh Morgan? You're kidding me, right? No... you're not... I just looked it up..... that's ridiculous. Total waste of money for a former 6th rounder who hasn't done jack squat. Skins are clearly purging their WR corps. Expect on Hankerson to remain on the team from the current crew.

I still don't understand the signing of josh. We have moss, hankerson, davis, cooley, plus armstrong and going hard after royal I don't see the need to spend 6 million on him. I am kinda surprised we didn't see cooley released or traded

I know that the Redskins and cowboys have filed appeals about the cap penalty the redskins had a little over 42 million before the penalty. 42 m-18m= 24 million. Plus they released S Atogwe and FB Sellers saving just under 5.5 million giving them a total of 29.5 million to spend from everything i have read and put together. They have already spent 19.4 million on Garcon,Morgan,Carriker. That means they have just around 10 million more to spend with needs at OL,LB,and S. I guess the defense is going to suck this year.

Cut Tana.....if you're going to commit to Eddie Royal, cut Moss and save money.

No sense in having bascially two of the same skill set (except Moss is much older) hanging around.

I think they're just revamping the offense around younger players. Our team is old.

Cooley (whom I love) is probaby gone, Moss the same.

Build around Davis, RGIII and young WR's. It actually makes sense

Moss and Cooley make a little over 12 million. I do under stand what you are saying but Even though Moss is older he is still better then Morgan. This was a dumb sign by the front office. I know Banks and Armstrong haven't shown alot at WR but they could still be the 3rd option instead of wasting 6 million on Morgan. I know you don't sing the contracts but as fan is makes me mad that the front office does stupid **** like this. WE also are losig FLetcher and McIntosh that have been huge to this defense. We know and the coaches should expect the playoffs this year with a young QB. Juts get him good game time. But know our Defense won't be able to stop a anyone. Our D-line and with Brian and Ryan it is going to be scary.

I like the TWO signings and resigning of carriker. Dline is good and olb are young and talented. We need olb help yes an secondary needs help. I like our new db coach and think he will improve it. We have a couple guys at cb who could move to Fs I think. Offensively I think we are doing right. Young rb, wr, te, and qb. Line in the zone blocking scheme is replaceable with later draft picks.

Also, they aren't trying to win it all this year but they are building a foundation to grow from. I like it

Moss won't be competing with Morgan. Moss will be competing with Royal in the slot.

Hanky will be competing with Morgan on the outside opposite Garcon.

With Banks returning kicks.

And we're not gonna lose Fletcher or Rocky. Where did you hear that?

I'm hearing that London is just about a sure thing to come back...

As far as Rocky goes, I think a deal gets done. He took a step back last year as far as production goes....I'm not sure what kind of market is out there for him. I think he'll end up resigning.

As far bascially swapping Royal for Banks? Maybe, but I think Banks is more explosive and Royal will be the 3rd WR so I think both stay.

Still surprised Washington hasn't entertained Manningham.

They have. But his asking price was too much. Yeah, you had a great catch in the Super Bowl...but you're not a #1 (at least yet). He was probably waiting for VJax to sign to see what he could get out there. Now that Vjax, Garcon, and Colston are inked....he's gonna cash in.

Someone will pay him like a #1....But, in my book, he's still a toss up.

Shanny wnats Royal since he drafted him he knows what kinda player he has. Fletcher is the biggest need to sign right now. Then i would good with Ross for the CB spot. According to the redskins he is visiting friday.

As somebody who has dealt with Ross since he was drafted by the Giants, as long as he is the nickleback, you're good, if it's more, you're in trouble.

Oh great maybe we are better off signing a saftey instead of moving one of the CBs to saftey.
