Recruiting - Good Holding Pattern!!!

I know that many of you are in total freak out mode about our current recruiting class and its possible demise. This is not the time to panic. Further, this may be a time to get a little excited.

WHY, you ask??? Because I believe very strongly that most of our commits are realizing that ND is going to lose CW, but they will be bringing in a big name with solid credentials. They are not immune to the rumors flying around. Those include names such as Urban, Stoops, Kelly to name a few. All of these would be considered great by the recruits.

Pay attention to how our commits are almost all saying that they are committed with our without CW. They are not going to jump a ship which could have a new captain named Urban, Stoops or another great coach.

Further, notice how the uncommitted guys like Prater and others are still interested. They realize that ND is only a great coach away from being right back among the elite. The talent is here, it just needs some molding.

One of thebest parts of NCAA games, the recruiting. Sometimes I'll start a dynasty and sim the whole season and just recruit between games and at the end of the season and see how I do. It was pretty easy in 2004 haha

I don't believe this. Recruits do consider who the coach is. So do their parents. If we fire Chuck and go through an embarrassing search where a bunch of top-shelf guys turn down ND, we will lose recruits. Hell, we'll lose some recruits no matter what.

Stop being so optimistic, anyway. There is no grounds for it. We lost 6 games this year and have bungled the last 4 coaching searches/hires.

This will not be an issue and may even prove to be a strength because the guys who are 'ND' are still coming and the new coach may bring surprises. Charlie will leave a legacy of good recruiting and a new man will add to that because of his past success. Notre Dame will pull 'em in you can bet on that. I wish you guys could have heard Jim Nantz's comments last week about this and Notre Dame rising again. It was strong.

From what i have read. Leuders. Tailer Jones, Boyd, Wood, Hurd, Lombard, Shembo, Welch, Hendrix, Rees, Daniel Smith, Bennet Jackson, and Chris Badger are all solid on ND no matter what. Have not herad anything on Roberson, Moore or Bernard. Martin will visit Florida this weekend, and unless ND gets Stoops, Meyer, or Harbaugh consider him a Gator. Before you bash the kid remeber he is doing whats best for him and if Weis could win he would be ours

agree, agree, and agree. There is also something else to add to this discussion. Whomever we get to coach, they have recruits from their former college program....."food for thought" that perhaps if we get someone of the likes of stoops, or meyer, and so on, that maybe we get some of their recruits to follow, ALONG with our own class. and btw, I trust Jason on the recruiting info
