What do you think our ranking will be in the new ap and coaches polls?
AP #8
CP #9
AP #8
CP #9
Your ranking will not improve when you beat 0-5 Stanford at home.
The only way your ranking will move up is if other people lose decisively, and if you win decisively. Perhaps destroying UCLA is a good first step.

So are you saying that Nd should always be the highest ranked 1 loss team? Tennessee looks awefully impressive to me, and they lost their game by 1 point.
we SHOULD move past Auburn.
If ND were to play Auburn next week on a neutral field, who would be favored to win?
That's right, Auburn.
So they should be ranked above ND, no?

10...
I bet that either Auburn stays ahead of us, or Tennessee jumps over us.
We are not going to get much love.
Hell, don't be shocked if we only move up 1.
Yeah maison, didn't like that argument.
However, let's analyze one loss teams compared to Nd.
Texas should be ahead of Nd, especially after today's triumph over Oklahoma.
Tennessee should (in my opinion) be ahead of Nd, no doubt about it. They lost one game by one point and they beat a resurgent Georgia team on the road. They're having a very similar bounce back season like us. I can see it in their play.
Cal should also be ahead of Nd, but only by a small margin. They lost by a pretty large margin to the aforementioned Tennessee, but had an impressive win over Oregon today.
I can't imagine Auburn falling 10 places, though I think a very good argument can be made that Nd should be ahead of them.
Here's what I think the should be:
1. OSU
2. Florida (Will drop next week)
3. USC
4. Michigan
5. West Virginia
6. Texas
7. Tennessee
8. Louisville
9. Cal
10. Auburn
11. Notre Dame
12. Clemson
13. Georgia
14. Georgia Tech
15. Iowa
16. LSU
17. Missouri
18. Oregon
19. Boise State
20. Virginia Tech
21. Nebraska
22. Arkansas
23. Oklahoma
24. Rutgers
25. Boston College
Dropped: Florida State
Added: Arkansas
I wouldn't be surprised to see Auburn bounce back, and beat Florida next week.

I don't mind if Tennessee jumps ahead after the game today, but no way in hell Auburn should stay ahead of the Irish after they lost like that to an unranked team. Notre Dame fell 10 spots when they got trounced by #12(at the time) Michigan. Auburn should fall at least that much for that loss to Arkansas today.
