hmmm, i only think we will move up 2 spots at best. but deservedly so if you ask me. based on this weeks games only, I just think we needed to beat a better quality opponent to move up 3 or 4 spots, but that's my opinion. I'm actually not too concerned about rankings until we meet USC at the end of the year (assuming we win till then) because our ranking will only move up one spot at a time up to Nov 25. If we are in the Top 5 by then, I'm pretty satisfied.

Auburn lost 27-10 @ HOME, to an unranked team so thats says that we will move up!

we'll move past LSU, and we SHOULD move past Auburn. We fell 9 or 10 spots when we lost to a top 10 team in Michigan, Auburn lost to a non ranked team so they should fall 10 or so spots. Oregon is losing to Cal right now so we'll move ahead of them if they lose. GA is beating up on Tennesse so we won't pass them.

GT won again, they might crack the top 15 this week.

Auburns schedule and loss isn't as "impressive" as ours..

Tennessee and Cal are better arguements and I would agree we do not have a better resume then UT at this point.

However, let's analyze one loss teams compared to Nd.

Texas should be ahead of Nd, especially after today's triumph over Oklahoma.

Tennessee should (in my opinion) be ahead of Nd, no doubt about it. They lost one game by one point and they beat a resurgent Georgia team on the road. They're having a very similar bounce back season like us. I can see it in their play.

Cal should also be ahead of Nd, but only by a small margin. They lost by a pretty large margin to the aforementioned Tennessee, but had an impressive win over Oregon today.

I can't imagine Auburn falling 10 places, though I think a very good argument can be made that Nd should be ahead of them.

I completely agree. I know we all think they deserve better, but a 10 or 9 ranking is the best we will get...we have much to prove during these so-called "cup cake games"

me either. That didn't look like the Auburn team that beat LSU. Auburn got caught looking ahead to their game against florida.

I don't mind if Tennessee jumps ahead after the game today, but no way in hell Auburn should stay ahead of the Irish after they lost like that to an unranked team. Notre Dame fell 10 spots when they got trounced by #12(at the time) Michigan. Auburn should fall at least that much for that loss to Arkansas today.

And btw, I'm sorry, but after that game, why should I believe Notre Dame couldn't beat that Auburn team? This is not the team that went undefeated in the SEC a few years ago, especially on defense. They give up big plays, they get run on sometimes. I think it would be criminal if they stay in the top 10 after that loss. Not saying the Irish should be the team that replaces them, but they don't belong there rightt now after that loss. They bounce back and beat Florida, then we can talk, but they should drop to at least 11th (if not more) after that game.

Are you using the same odds makers that picked ND to win at home by more than home field advantage over Michigan? How soon we forget. ND would have been a 1/5 point to 1 point over UM on a neutral field. AU would have been a 10.5 favorite over ARK on a neutral field.

And just for the record are those Hogs that waxed Auburn the same one that squeezed by Vandy by two, won in OT against Bama when Bama left the foot out of football, and were demolished by the Trojans 50-14?

Not usually. Conspiracy theory and conference revenue sharing aside, historically it's not uncommon to fall 10 slots the first couple of weeks in the poll. It's not uncommon to fall 7 slots midseason. And it's not uncommon to drop 3-5 at the end of the season. Sometimes only 1 or 2 slots late in the season against a highly ranked opponent.
