Whether you agree with a fellow poster or not, please do not discount other's opinions.

Not everything is black and white, there are many shades of gray. If you wish to do discount others, UHND or NDNation would probably be more to your liking. People here are entitled to their opinion and can believe what they want to believe. If you wish to debate, find, but do so with logic, developed thought and/or statistical evidence.

In classic democratic debate, one discounts
(Merriam Webster definition: Pronunciation: 'dis-"kaunt, dis-' Function: verb; to minimize the importance of (1) : to make allowance for bias or exaggeration in (2) : to view with doubt : to take into account (as a future event) in present calculations);
the opinions of others to persuade them that the content of their opinion is wrong, not their right to have an opinion is wrong !
Secondly, You seem to, yourself, discount the fairness of debate at UHND and NDNation. Is that not precisely what you accuse me of doing?
Finally, challenging conspiracy theorists regarding their version of the events of September 11th and the current state of energy prices is perfectly proper debate. Where should we look for the right conspiracy "opinion" as what brought those towers down, and all those people. Look in the facts of the rubble.
Svoboda, with all due respect, let's get back to football.

Point taken. As for UHND and NDNation, I've witnessed people get thrashed because they didn't like certain colors, foods and thought it might rain. I was one of them, which ultimately led to the creation of this very website.

On the other points, I just want to make sure that people here can talk about whatever they like without being criticized. If someone doesn't want to debate logically, maturely, etc., I'd hope they simply would not respond.

But yes, back to football.

Sorry if I upset anyone with the oil thing its my current rant topic...I love Notre Dame. I salivate just thinking about september and since finding this site I can not only hear about my team. I can also converse with intelligent intellectual people 12 months a year. I was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in 84 was told I had no chance of living more than 18 months in 87. In the emortal words of Richard Pryor "I ain't going nowhere without my luggage". Like my girlfriend when she's dragging me through the mall I just can't find the set I want. Instead of sucking money off of the tax payers I drag my goofy butt around as an associate of a national mortgage, real estate and financial securities co. I do rewrites for authors (currently working on ancient texts...nag hammadi library: www.earth-history.com) and as per the usual thank you for allowing me to be part of this. I have only been to one game at the stadium...watched some kid from pitt run thru, over and around us...I think he got the nickname TD just from playing us. I can't walk far enough to go to a game and actually prefer a large screen tv (I have a habit of cursing during games). Again sorry if I cheezed anyone off.
