how do you get more of those square dots under the Donate underneath your avatar... I currently have one, and It says i have 17 rep points... would anyone mind explaining this whole system to me?

Those are reputation points that are given to you by other members of IE. Typically for good posts and such.

You need to get about 100 to get a new square.

Ok, here's my noobish question even though I'm a mod. What does a rep. box that is black/clear in my UserCP mean. I think the person that gave it to me ment it to be bad, even though it was undeserved, but then shouldn't it be red? However it looks like the rep box of somone that has disabled their rep.

Well here's my best guess then. I noticed that we have a Rep. Power above the Reps. that we have given out, mine is 14. Since the guy that gave me a negative rep had a one red box as his profile rep at the time, I'm guessing his rep power was zero, therefore it doesn't count against me.

Yes, grey rep is when the one giving it doesn't have the power to affect your score. It shows up grey, but doesn't count towards anything.
