Do the Irish pull out the Green Jerseys for some more magic, or do we keep them in the locker room to prevent what happened when Willingham pulled them out for another loss to GD Boston College? BTW, am I the only one that wishes that we would get to play them this year with CW at the helm. I have a feeling because he is an alumi, he would make them pay for screwing up two seasons by beating us at home?

Your answer for the man himself (taken from press conference transcipt):

Q: You spoke about being at the Notre Dame - USC game as a student and the team came out in green jerseys. Would you consider doing that?

Coach Weis: I wouldn't count on seeing that. I also told you that emotional stuff doesn't last too long. We are going to have to play our best game to have a chance to win. We all know that. You know it and I know it. That is what I am hoping we do.

Would I ever consider it, I should say, `Yes, I would consider it,' so you guys can write it. (Laughter) Yeah, I would consider it. (Laughter). But don't count on it for this one. I will give you a little insight on that.

The difference with this game and the BC a couple of years ago is notre dame was a big favorite in that game. This time they are an underdog. All willingham did when he brought out the green jerseys was fire Bc up. Totally the wrong time to do that. This game against USC i dont want to give them any more motivation than they already have. Im not sure that the green jerseys have the affect they used to have. I think now opponents view it as a sign of disrespect. Dont get me wrong i love the green jerseys but they are not going to help ND in any way.I wish we were playing BC this year, i hate them. Ive got a couple more on my mind too, like oregon state,NC state and of coarse i cant wait to play Mich state next year, but for now ill take a thrashing of USC. Im a realist, so i dont think thats going to happen ( a blowout) but if Nd is in position to run it up, please charlie rub it in their faces.

Wearing them isn't going to pressure Leinart and leaving them in the locker room isn't going to guarantee a win.

The only magic ND needs is a pass rush.

Absolutely not. They may never wear those things again. I say wear them during the Blue-Gold game or something.

Wear navy blue and turn the Trojans black and blue to match. SC says they're approaching it like any other game. ND should do the same.

Agreed. I'm not as down on the green jerseys as a lot of people are, but the time has to be right, and I'm just not feelin' it here.

I liked it for the Sugar Bowl against Florida, when Notre Dame went in 9-2 and everyone was saying that a 2-loss team didn't belong in a New Year's Day bowl. Winning in green was sweet that day.

I didn't like it for the Fiesta Bowl a few years later against Colorado, when we were 6-4-1 behind Ron Powlus. THAT was the game we didn't belong in, and the green jerseys were a mistake.

And MAN were they a mistake for Boston College in '02. When I saw Ty's boys come out of the tunnel wearing green, that made me nervous. BC is not a green jersey game.

Blue and gold against USC this weekend. Let's keep it real.

I wouldn't mind seeing them put on the green jerseys again for BC in 2007...just a little redemption

I think people's stance on the green jersey's has a lot to do w/ their age and/or how long they've been Irish fans. I know the team had some big wins in them years ago, but in my lifetime, for example, all I can remember those damn jerseys bringing is bad luck, punctuated w/ that BC game. So I, obviously, am not much of a fan.

I say, if Weis absolutely has to try them out, wear them in a couple of years when they play San Diego State or whoever it is, I know there's some patsy on the schedule 2 years from now they've never played before. If they lose that game, burn them and never speak of them again.

It is time to stop thriving on the days of Rockne, The Horsemen, Green Jersies and Gipper Speeches. Rearview mirror.

They need to stop living off of the old legend and begin building a new one in a new era....starting Saturday.

NO GREEN JERSEYS!! I was at the BC game when we came out in those jerseys. I was silently thinking, we just blow it. Bad memories with green jerseys for me fellows. I have not seen us win with them on.
