Negligence is a funny thing...you can point to it fairly easily...culpability of an individual or individuals is QUITE a bit different...an institution can be negligent w/o a specific person culpable, per se...its only lawyers and and politicians that make them "equivalent".

Wait for the facts...

Yeah, my post had no intention of making claim that Kelly nor Swarbick were negligent. What I was basically saying is that ND will be dishing out a nice chunk of money and therefore someone will be held accountable by ND administration for that monetary loss.

Not trying, but succeeding.

What so racsist about it? Please I'd like to know! Here's a real question, would Wilbon be saying this if our coach was black? Or would be defending the coach, that was the point to my post..

I would "think" that someone (one person) that was capable of knowing how a “mythic group of phenotypically similar peoples” all “think,” would be capable of spelling better.

Racist. No “s” first. It’s simple.

Seriously, somebody in another thread used the term “opinion as fact”, this is the ultimate masquerade: the arrogance of lumping together a whole group of peoples thoughts, desires and motivations. How can anyone do that without thinking they are innately superior?

Oh yeah, one of the things I got from my great-grandfather was a sign that said, "No Irish need apply" -- and the other was an old newspaper clipping pointing out all the phenotypical and behavioral shortcomings of the Irish, and how they never would succeed at anything; that all they wanted to do was drink.

Anytime someone says, "look, I'm not trying to be racist here, but..."

...be careful.

Maybe you were not trying to sound racist

Maybe you were not trying to sound racist

but you did a great job of sounding racist.

F**k Michael Wilbon! He hated ND for firing Willingham because you know how black people are, they stick together(not trying to be rasist, it's the truth). He said U-Dub needs to give Ty more time there too..

I never really like PTI. I don't even watch any of the shows on ESPN anymore they've all gotten to be ridiculous.

For those of you who didn't see it, Pardon the Interruption had a segment on Notre Dame today and Swarback's comments that neither him nor Kelly would resign. Both Wilbon and Tony K said that this was the lowest point in the history of ND Football, and that resigning may be out of their hands as there is an "investigation" going on.

Who is conducting this investigation? How serious is it? Are Wilbon and Kornheiser just out to lunch?

I think we all need to remember what the "E" in ESPN stands for... ENTERTAINMENT and Sports Programming Network. The Entertainment definitely comes before the Sport for them. I occasionally listen to The Tony Kornheiser Radio Show podcast while at the gym and he is the first to admit that he often comments on things he has absolutely no idea of or without knowing all the facts... but he's often incredibly entertaining... just got to remember not to take him to seriously.
