I hear they are, esp. if you go downtown. I'm heading up to the game this weekend. I paid to much money to need to worry about the safety of my family, so I think we are just not going to where ND stuff but we will be there. I might take my jersey in my pocket and check out my section first.

I just got a ticket, and was told by a PSU alum NOT to wear blue and gold. He said that the only exception is if you are in the ND section.

Wear ND

Wear ND

Wear your ND stuff. It is just the PSU people trying to get as few ND people wearing dark colors because they want a white out. I have been to a ton of games at PSU and the only area you have to worry about is the student section. You guys shouldn't be near the student section anyways. The alumni area is fine.

You are fine wearing ND stuff downtown. They might say a few things depending on how the game goes but if you aren't an ass they won't be.

WEAR GREEN!!!!

GN -- you are right. He said that as long as you aren't near the student section, that you should also be okay.

Don't forget to layer a night game onto the hostility. Makes for lots of pre-game drinking.

so wear green...

seriously though, i'm not going, so i can't speak for my own safety and you may say i'm a hypocrit, but i would never go to a notre dame game and not wear notre dame stuff no matter where the game is played.

Hat, shirt, wear what ya got. If you do have problems with anyone, walk away. If they won't let you than kick some tail!!! I'm a strong believer in supporting what ever you believe in, and if you believe in the Irish than represent that. No matter what stadium your in.

Thats why I hate philly-area sports. Seriously how rediculous is it that people have to be concerned about their safety when going to a sporting event, especially that of children. This is one of the biggest reasons that I have grown up to detest philly sports, even though I am 30 min from their stadiums.

I've worn Penguin gear to Flyers games and have come out alive. So, I've never been too concerned from that perspective. 90k drunk PSU fans....maybe another story.

I went to the ND-Oregon state fiesta bowl. As I waited for my dad to use the bathroom, I was accosted by a grown man who started talking shit to me. I was like 15. Some people are ridiculous.

I live in PA, but I'm not going because I have no desire to step foot on that campus. I went to the game last year though. Penn St. fans are nitwits. wear your green and support our Irish.

Ditto I'm having people over my house and most are PSU fans, but all are my friends. If you plan on going to the game plan on being abused. YOU WILL have stuff thrown at you IE hotdogs, sodas and whatever shit those PSU homos can find.

Same thing happened to me when N.D. an LSU played in the independence bowl I think it was. Maybe in 2000 I was about 14 or 15 at the time and some 40 year old guy started giving me all kinds of shit.

I rarely am ever at my teams' home games. I have to diverse a fanship across the country, so Ive learned to appreciate the heckling I get. I just give it right back once we start kicking their tail. And if we get our tail kicked, just be prepared to have a snide come-back. For PSU, I think it'd center around being coached by the living dead or something. But hey, go out in your green and tick off as many as you can.

if you keep to yourself, you'll most likely be OK physically during the day. i would stay away from downtown after things get dark though... be prepared to be verbally accosted at ALL times. i will be there and will not be taking it easy on anyone wearing ND attire.

Physical abuse is no different than verbal abuse.

People should get together to enjoy a game regardless of sides. That is why people leave ND with good impressions. The ND crowd is generally accepting of and considerate to visitors. It is a shame that some within the PSU community do not have the same belief system.

Are you for real? Are you aware we are talking about a football game? Thank God most fans of most schools don't have this sort of attitude. There's enough hostility in the world.

I believe shit talking and "accosting" are radically different. You may want to inquire with one of your distinguished Big 10 english teachers on the difference in connotation.
