Yeah its way way way way way WAY to early but with the 08 class winding down, what do you think the 09 class will look like. Here is my guess:

QB: Morgan Newton. Dont see him leaving the state
RB: Cierre Wood. Seeing that he cares about Academics, i think we have a good shot
WR: Dieon Sims. 6'5 reciever from michigan. Think he will get offered and seems like a good prospect
OT: Eric Shrieve. He is a die hard ND fan from PA. he hates Penn State
OT: Xavier Nixon. considering he got such an early offer, i think we will get him.
C: Mark Brazinski. Coz he is from Joisy
TE: Jake Golic. If he doesnt come here i will cut my nuts off
Ath: Golden Tate's bro. Follows in his brothers footsteps.

Defense:
DT: Jordan Stepp. From Indiana and had the most reps benching at the San Antonio combine(41), seems like a good prospect
DT: JaMarcus McFarland: Great prospect hope to bring him in.
DE: Devon Kennard. A man can dream right?
LB: Carlo Calabrese. The kid is an animal. the jersey pipeline will continue.
LB: Darren Markle. His mom posts at GH and says he loves ND. Seems like a good recruit too
CB: Michael Campanaro. Apparently another ND fan.
S: Devonte Hollman. Has an offer just think he will be reeled in.
S/CB: Anthony Urbania. He can play either position, an ND fan, and reject an OSU offer. My type of kid.

Remember this is just a complete guess at this point.

no TyQuan Hammock?

This is going to be a very tough sell. TyQuan is very close to his older brother, Thomas, and he is an assistant coach at Minnesota. Right now, I would think Minnesota has the inside track.

Notre Dame is in on a lot more kids than I thought they would be at this point, but this kind of thing is really futile...

Some of these kids haven't even been offered yet.

Well since after next season there will only be 2 scholarship QB's on the roster I expect 2 QB's in this class.

While the TE depth is good ND did lose one when Reuland decided to transfer, so I think they will take 2 again this year.

Depending how the '08 class finishes out I think Charlie & Co. take 2 RB's if they don't get 1 more in '08.

It's unrealistic to go with projections right now but wishlists are about all we can do right now.

QB: Tate Forcier. Newton isn't the pocket passing quarterback for this system, not sure that Weis would want to try the DD situation again. Forcier keeps the Socal QB pipeline and could sit for a few years while physically maturing.
RB: Theo Riddick and Wesley Tate. With it looking like Jonas will be the only back this year, I expect two in this class. Riddick the smaller speedster while Tate has obvious ties with his brother and would be a bigger back with plenty of speed himself.
WR: Marlon Brown and Jeron Stokes. Brown is a physically imposing receiver and Stokes could be a WR/CB recruit.
TE: Golic, easy one.
OT: Eric Shrive and Kyle Koehne. Shrive is a Pennsylvania boy who is a fan of the Irish. Nixon is waiting until at least the beginning of 09 to decide. If we wait that long for a prospect that will most likely end up at UNC, Koehne might be a local guy that gets a late offer and jumps on it.
OG: Zak Tait. Former teammate of Harrison Smith, have to like our chances.
DT: Lendell Buckner. Massive Chicago native.
DE: Chris Bonds and Corey Adams. Bonds might get a little push from former teammate Gary Gray. Adams is a physical freak, pure and simple.
OLB: Barrett Jordan and Carlo Calabrese. Teammate of Dayne and Anthony. Jersey Boy who is friends with Fasano.
MLB: Darius Moffett. We took three this year, and Moffett is good enough to allow just one in this class.
CB: Jordan Love and Perry James. While Campanaro is a name here, not sure if he is big enough for the type of guy Corwin wants.
S: Anthony Urbania. Ohio native loves ND.

Not sure. But I know we recruited at least 2 from chicago this year and I think they were both linebackers.

What about Josh Adams, 6'4" WR from Massachusetts, apparently he's hearing some from ND. And Darius Moffett, a LB from Hubbard, same HS as Hughes...

It's really too hard to predict next years class but these names will be constant

Xavior Nixon OT from Fayettville NC, I believe he was our first offer expect us to throw everything including the kitchen sink at him. He knows that he is our number one priority and this should play big in his decision. He will announce late in the process because he wants to wait for his fathers return from deployment from Afganastan in Jan 09.

De'von Flournoy Milton Knox's teammate and our #1 Reciever prospect. He is an absolute Game breaker much like Tate, but a bit taller at 6'1" The recruitment of Knox could sway this one way or the other.

Eric Shrive OT from Scraton PA He comes from a town with deep roots to ND. Will be attending the Junior Day on Feb 24

Jamarkus Mcfarland DT from Lufkin TX. I think he will be tough to pull out of Texas, but he is the top defensive prospect in the 09 class so we won't go away easily

Cierre Wood RB from Oxnard CA He posted some of the most gaudy statistics i've ever seen. Can and will score from anywhere. 115 rushes 2600 yds and 42 TDS. HE WILL BE THE NATIONS #1 PROSPECT BY THIS TIME NEXT YEAR

Jake Golic TE from Hartford CT He is a Golic "nuff said"

Theo Riddick RB from Somerville NJ He may be the next offer in the 09 class if we miss out on Milton Knox. They have very similar games

Anthony Urbania RB/S from Wickliffe OH I could see us looking at him as a safety or full back. He is all day tough and already said ND is the leader for his services.

Jarrett Fleming WR from South Bend We are his favorite, but he needs to get bigger and show it on the football field next year before we offer. Alot of upside though at 6'4"

Marcus Hall OT from Cleveland Glenville Campus. This would be huge, because it would get us a foot in the door of the Ted Ginn Sr Football factory. Plays nasty!

John Anevski OG from Cinn Elder He is the Teammate of Kyle Rudolph and has heavy intrest in the Irish. He plays against some of the best competition in the country. If offered it could be just a matter of time.

Carlo Calabrese ILB from Verona NJ I think Charlie would consider this his NJ steal. He is friends with the Fasano family and has been on campus multiple times.

Jordan Barrett ILB from Shermon Oaks CA He is AMac's best friend and his size would fit well in the 3-4. Mutual interest

Ty Hammock ILB from FT Wayne IN The nickname "Hammer" says it all. Finds the ball well and good friends with many ND players.

Jordan Love CB from Laurel MD He has the size and speed at corner that we need. He is the lockdown corner that we need. Expect an offer in the next couple of months.

Obviously there will be more on our radar, but I tried to cover the players that we have the best shots at. I didn't put any wish lists on this one

Mante Te'o I don't care what anyone says, he's coming to ND, and hes going to make a big difference in the middle. With him and Carlo, I dare anyone to run up the middle!

Here's my predictions for the class:

Current Commits:

RB: Cierre Wood
RB: Theo Riddick
OG: Alex Bullard
P: Ben Turk
OLB: Dan Fox
ILB: Carlo Calabrese
TE: Jake Golic
DT: Tyler Stockton

Who we finish with:

OT: Xavier Nixon
OG: Chris Watt
K: Dustin Hopkins
WR: Shaq Evans
S: Mike Jones (if we offer)
CB: EJ Banks
DE: Anthony LaLota
OLB: JeLani Jenkins (if he visits)
OLB: Glenn Carson (if we offer)

I'm not sure who else. Kind of a shot in the dark but that would be a nice finish to the class.

Mcfarland is out of the picture "i think"...... He may stay in TX or go to LSU.... Which is fine with me. I would really like to see the Irish land Roh and Jenkins on defense and Shaq and Su'a-Filo on offense..

I think we get 2 more linebackers of Jelani Jenkins, Manti Te'o, and Frankie Telfort. We have time to wait for all of them now. We'll have a sweet LB class this year.

perfect recruiting class for this year

offense

qb - none
rb - cierre wodd and theo riddick
fb - glenn carson
wr - nyshier oliver
te - golic and eifert
o-guard - bullard and watt
o-tackle - zach martin and xavier nixon
c - none

defense

DE - davon custis and gabe ikard
DT- tyler stockton
MLB - carlo calabrese
OLB - dan fox and zeke motta
cb - ej banks
s - none

if we are able to get these people, we are good even if we dont get jenkins or teo

the most important thing is to get xavier nixon this year and

also to get 2 defensive ends - davon custis - 6-5 220 pounds could end up being 270 pounds after 1 year also gabe ikard could project there as well being 6-3
he has good size to bulk up to 260 but if he wants to play tight end it wont do us anygood. im really worried about the defensive end position this year with only davon custis being a possibility and still a big project converting him
people say nick kasa is a possibility but he will go to florida i think

We need some beef on the offensive and defensive line. Stockton is a beast, but he isn't big enough to play nose tackle in a 3-4, let alone a defensive end.

If we ran a base 4-3 system, Stockton would do some serious damage for us, sadly, a nose tackle in the 3-4s main goal is to plug the middle, not rush the quarterback which is Stockton's specialty.
