I would be sad to see him go. He really has "the quicks" and I think he could be a very competitive CB. As far as I'm concerned, ALL depth there is a good depth, given our last few years, the more guys competing the better. I know everyone wants PT, but we also don't want to be a program where nobody can be patient and wait their turn (senior year often!). That's not how successful programs are built. Still, if he does leave, all the best to him, and I think the program will be fine.

Well, here's to Lambert being shown the door, IMO. If Munir chooses to leave, I'll be sorely disappointed, however, the cupboard isn't bare, either. Walls, McNeil, Gray, Gordon, and whichever Frosh decides to step up and showcase his talent. Lambert does not look for the ball.

Munir will be meeting with the coaches to discuss a transfer in the upcomming weeks. It looks like it'll be either Mizzou or Wisconsin.

Any cornerback that doesn't try to win through faceguarding, but finds the ball and the man at the same time would be welcome. I hope Prince develops these skills and can stay--he definitely has the speed.

It seems that way unless they talk him out of it, or unless if he were to back out at the last min.

It's too bad Munir couldn't find his place at ND (if he leaves). I wish him the best if he looks elsewhere. It has to be frustrating to hardly see the field and see the talent coming in.

Yeah, I would have liked him to stay and fight for a spot. It's not like he wasn't on the depth chart at all this season. Oh well, I hope he's happy where he ends up.

Pete Sampson over at Rivals said "he would be surprised if Munir Came back next year. his reasons are legit."

what are his reasons for transferring exactly? anyone know?

From what I've heard it has to do with the depth chart and not any personal issues with the coaches. I wish him well wherever he ends up, which is more than I can say for a few of the other transfers.

Yeah, I agree as well. He seems like a good kid and I hope he finds a place where he can get some play time.

It's confirmed! Good luck at Mizzou Munir. I hope for his sake he'll crack the depth chart.

Best of luck to Munir.

This will sound silly, but all of this really proves that Weis knows what he is doing. He knew that there were going to be depth problems in 2007-2008, so he signed up the largest class in ND history in 2006. Now that the talent is starting to work itself out (and more talent is on the way), you are seeing the majority of the transfers coming from that huge class (which can take the hit from a numbers perspective). Now the 2008-2009 classes can be larger if necessary.

Sorry to state the obvious, but I'm suddenly very impressed by CW's foresight.

Although I am saddened that Prince is not staying (I just salivate over that type of speed- I keep thinking back to the possibility of it being used like Rocket Ismial (Sp)),
it gives credence to my belief that coaches need 5 years before a true evaluation can be made on their effectiveness as a HC.

Before you all jump on that comment, I understand there are exeptions to every rule, ie TW. TIFWIW.

This really saddens me I wanted to change my name to Rocket and Prince's Rocket fan.

But best of luck to him at Mizzou, I hope he is happy there.

They certainly are getting a lot of transfers and de-commots lately, specially from Nebraska. They may have something going out there.
