The circus continues..........I dont know about you guys.......and really dont care for all the negatives.....You are all entitled to your opinions with respect but aren't you guys the least bit embarressed about all this crap? we have two maybe 3 games left? I want ND / CW to win these games. ....The distraction to the team / the coach? Its got to be eating the players alive. If ND had the STONES they would come out and publically State that CW is our coach til the end of the season period. After the season we will reevaluate the situation.
This sucks......Some of you are eating this up like candy. This is the exact reason why I say WHO !!! would want to coach here knowing all this ???? I have been to 4 states in the past 5 days and people are saying Notre Dame what a joke.....I hate it. You all should feel the same way. What an embarressment to a great football program.

read between the lines

read between the lines

Sometimes people on this board are more with it than espn(notice small caps). The guy is gone they just havent got the new man and they are trying desperately to hold a recruiting class together. I'll bet Charlie being loyal has agreed to all this mess and the new coach who will be one who can hold the recruits together with Charlie's help will benefit. If he's a highly regarded name they wont lose many players. Charlie Weis is doing them right and being loyal. The new guy will have a talented team to start his run. The question is only who is interested or who is coming, I just hope they treat the man with dignity at the UCONN game because he deserves that much.

the circus is not at all unique to ND. i spend time on the UM boards, and RichRod, for the most part, is getting ripped to pieces and the specualation on who could replace him is rampant (and it has nothing to do, yet, with the practice issues). heck, he is only in his second season.

this would, and does, happen at any high profile program that goes in the toilet, and Weis knew that when he came here.

he even hung a banner up after his first season that said "9-3 isn't good enough." so, what does he expect when he goes 3-9, 7-6, and probably 7-6 again.

The same is also happening on USC boards.

I have been to 4 states in the past 5 days and people are saying Notre Dame what a joke.....

This is the reason we need a new head coach with head coach experience......I don't know about you guys but I'm tired of these 3-9 7-6 & 6-6 or 7-5 seasons....This is why we need an experienced Head Coach.....

I don't even tell people that I'm an Irish fan, because if you do you'll get hammered by criticism....I have been in several fights because of this.......
Good thing I have 20+ years of Martial Arts training.

No.......what we need is a guy who will come in and turn the corner. Ty Willingham has experience as a Head Coach, maybe we should go after him? Bob Davie is out there, too. Everyone is talking about "we need a fiery guy", or "we need a guy with experience as a Head Coach", or "no more NFL guys". For Christ's sake, pull yourselves together, people. What we need is a guy who can WIN!! I don't care if they find him living under the Brooklyn Bridge, just find someone to turn the corner. And, as has been mentioned already..........show Coach Weis some respect. If you can't respect the product on the field, then at least respect the fact that the guy worked his tail off, and is leaving this program on the doorstep of that Return to Glory that we all want.

That's what I have been saying, I don't care who we get as long as we win period. But there are people on here who wants the perfect coach that has no past......They want somebody who is a saint, because that's the face of ND.

I'm just afraid that college football has past ND by. People don't want a coach like Meyer. I just want to know if there is any coach out there who can live up to the fans image, and still win here at ND.

People on here don't want Kelly now for what he Might have done in the past???? All I want is someone to come in here and win, I mean win at least 10+ games a year. I'm tired of hearing people calling us Notre Lame!!!!!!!

Let's get a coach that can win at this level DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!

We all want someone that is going to win. that goes unsaid. We just do not want more of the same. Many of us believe the shortcomings from the past regime's are from an apparent lack of fire, head coaching experience, or an inability to relate to college players. These characteristics represent the majority of the successful college coaches in today's game. A change of culture is needed in South Bend. A fire needs to be rekindled that hasn't been burning since Holtz's departure. Swarbrick needs a homerun!!

Well, I'm in agreement on not bringing in a guy that you strongly suspect will not uphold the values of the University. Like Meyer suspending a kid for ONE HALF, for trying to gouge out an opponent's eyes, in a pile. What do you think Lou would have done with that kid? My point is not that I think we should take a win at all costs attitude. My point is that I don't think you can discount a guy because "he's an NFL guy", or because "he's never been a head coach", or because "he's not fiery enough to motivate the kids". That one really bothers me. This is ND.......if you need your coach to get you fired up to take the field, then go play in the MAC or the Sunbelt.
