Post Game Observations........

1. A HUGE win, on the road, over a Top 10 team. Congrats to the players, the coaches, the equipment guys, the trainers, the cheerleaders........... hell, congrats to EVERYONE who supports the Blue and Gold.

2. The Defense showed that they are a force to be reckoned with. This D is for real!

3. Golson is a good QB, but not great yet. He is, understandably, making underclassman mistakes. That's to be expected. He's mobile, but he's not a GREAT runner.

4. I think what is really lacking on this team is polish. That's polish, as in luster, not Polish, as in The Polish Irishman. They play as a team........... but there are some gaps in their game. So they can look kind of Jekyll and Hyde-ish.

5. USC can suck it!!

Kelly's doing exactly what he set out to do... building an elite program, starting with the d. we're still a little thin and we still have a lot of room to improve but this Irish team has exceeded all my expectations so far. Great win.

1. Te'o had a monster game and I'm really happy for him. Tough week, and I really respect him stepping up and putting it on the line when anybody would have been ok with him taking some time off.

2. D was very impressive.
3. Offense looked more diversified and more balanced than last week.
4. Play calling was really good.
5. I know nobody cares about this but me, but the uniforms were finally a nice look (I thought last week the pants looked way too yellow).
6. USC CAN suck it!

Kicking game was great (Turk and Brindza)
Oline was rough till the end of the game.
Golic needs to be replaced.
Golson is pretty good but still rather inaccurate, especially on deep throws.

Great win. Young defensive backfield is growing up fast. Lost Slaughter, Farley in, no big deal. Front 7 is awesome, great having Spond back on the field. Great job all around.

Golson didn't look down one receiver tonight and was making a lot of second reads. We are watching a star in the making!

What a tremendous performance from this team. To be able to go in a tough environment and hold the Spartans to 3 points is simply amazing. This defense is definitely for real. They were outstanding tonight especially the front seven.

Golson and the offense made plays when they had to and that's all that matters. He's still prone to mistakes but hey, it's his first road start and I think he handled it pretty well. He's going to continue to get better and better.

Also, congrats to Kelly and his staff. They deserve a ton of credit for where this team is right now and getting them prepared in every facet of the game. For the first time in a decade this team is 3-0 and a lot of credit has to go to this coaching staff.

Thoughts and prayers to Manti and his family, he's such a tremendous person and he's what you want in a student athlete. He represents this University with so much dignity and class.

Oh yeah, and U$C lost haha. Bring on Michigan baby. In the words of Bart Scott, "Can't Wait".

It seemed like every kick/punt bounced right, Manti's INT, field goals spun like knuckleballs between the posts, MSU had two sure INTs... Dropped.

It just seemed perfect.
Great game, prayers with Manti, what a fantastic ambassador for the school.

When Golson left the field, I believe it was following his running TD, he sat on the bench talking to Kelly and you could see on his face the excitement and it seemed like everything clicked. Like it all was coming together.

That was one impressive win. They took it to them early and played almost mistake free. Golson's only int came off a blindside near sack. ND stepped up on both the o and d lines. The young corners are looking better every game, Manti was more dominant than I can recall any ND lb being since Bob Crable, they drive the ball to a fg from their 4 at a key juncture late in the game to completely crush any hope MSU might have had at a comeback.

Our boys are looking good...it is great to be Irish tonight!
