Not to mention pro-style offenses featuring Willis McGahee, Maurice Clarett, and Mark Ingram. Pretty sure ND doesn't have a Heisman-caliber running back that can carry the offensive load coming in the next 2 years.

This is true, but Rees is light years ahead of Krenzel...... We don't need a Maurice Clarett. Hell, a Ryan Grant would compliment Tommy just fine.

I would say that Cierre has the talent to be our McGahee, Ingram or Clarrett. Will he put it all together and be that good? Who knows but it isn't for lack of talent.

I think Cierre is good and can be better (maybe our Ryan Grant?) but each of those guys was a top 5 RB----in their freshman year. Cierre ain't that type of player.

Also, that was only half my point. The bigger point was that those offenses all were pro-style offenses that minimized the importance of QB play.

Also, McElroy was a pretty damn good QB- Texas 5a player of the year the only year he started in HS.

HS stats do not mean anything in college. Maty Mauk is killing it in HS. McElroy played pretty bad his sophomore, became a game manager his junior year when they won it all and started to excel as a senior. What his supporters kept saying though, was he was a winner. He never lost in high school and he only lost once his sophomore year.

I am not saying Rees will follow suit but to suggest that in the 2 years he has left he won't improve is premature. You also do not know what the team will look like 2 years from now. Cierre might leave early. Who knows who the starting RB will be. How long does it take to build a defense?1 year? 2?
