1. The difference in this game was penalties and turnovers. ND's turnovers(3) kept NC in it, early on. And NC's penalties (9/94 yards)gave it away, late in the game.

2. For all of the ugliness on offense, ND did put up 500+ yards of offense.

3. Despite the win, ND gave up 500+ yard on defense. The defensive woes can be summed up in one phrase, I think: poor tackling. We gave up too many yards after contact, because defenders were trying to shoulder tackle, or were simply not in good position to make a tackle. It was INCREDIBLY sloppy tonight.

4. I can't understand why Kelly will not commit to running the ball, in the 1st quarter. It's not that he won't run it all, but he rarely calls two or more running plays in a row, until after the half. And to come out on 3rd and 2 with an empty backfield is just mind boggling to me. But, we just keep winning, so Kelly is doing something right.

5. I am amazed at the similarities between 2014 and 2012. This is a fallible team that finds ways to beat mediocre teams. But we are going to have to bring our A game, to beat the top teams.

My game ball goes to Tarean Folston. Great game, young man. Congratulations!!

We live by the Golson, we die by the Golson.

I'm probably going to have an ulcer before this season is over.

glad for the win, but major concerns for this team. kmoose is right on the mark. In reality, probably not even a legit top 10 team right now.

Our LBs were picked on big time in the passing game today. Worried what Nick O'Leary is going to do to them.

If we play like that next week, we will get destroyed. But I tend to think we won't play like that next week.

Poor tackling. Worst of the season. I will say I think North Carolina is a much better team than their record shows.

Sloppy game overall. Golson HAS to get better. I feel good the way the team battles and finds a way to a victory, but Golson HAS to get better protecting the football. A win is a win and I'll take Notre Dame being 6-0.

My prediction gameday with be at Notre Dame @ Florida State.

Go IRISH!

Our top ranked D got completely exposed. We just showed to FSU that a QB run with an up tempo offense can completely dismantle our defense.

Golson turnovers are killing us as it seems to put us in the hole right from the beginning, which inevitably starts our game with trying to play catch up.

One thing I forgot to mention is Notre Dame seems to play at the level of their opponent regardless how good or bad a team is. Frustrating.

1. Whew, we survived. Had this one marked as a loss in preseason.
2. D has to tackle better. But, taking away the points off TOs, giving up 22 points to UNC isn't too bad. They were gonna score some points regardless.
3. Relieved to see Riggs out there at the end of the game.
4. If we can cut the turnovers, we will win every game.
5. Great game by Folston.
6. Bring on FSU

Just glad Riggs came back. I thought we lost him. Otherwise, I think we were completely healthy.

Pretty sure they also said that already this morning on the show.

Nice game by Folston. Didnt hear, is Riggs gone? Would be super loss.

No he came back in later and had a pass interference call.

Million missed tackles. Unbelievably bad. Many occasions of 2,3,4 in a row on the same play. QB ran all over us, luckily Winston, surprisingly, isn't a big runner.

Still undefeated with youth!

Our d was exposed and tough to remember such poor tackling. This is nothing but focus and tells me we were looking past this game.

We need to buckle down and put together a perfect gameplan for fsu.

Golson has got to grow up for good! This bulllshit of regressing back to day 1 is getting old and makes me want to move on next year with Zaire. Be a man and lead this team dammit!

Folston made a statement and we our grateful for it! I will be honest and say I had him as third best...boy was I wrong! He was a beast today!

Fuller gets us stats, Robinson and koyack gets us W's

We got to have a n answer for the hurry up offense...

Hill is not ready to play this much...we desperately need a upperclassman pass rusher!

Rochelle is the best 3 technique in decades!

Our O line minus Stanley needs to grow a pair or take a seat! This puss mode must end now!

Swaying still looks stupid...

1. Rough start, hard to come back against any team when you spot them 14, (could have been 17 if not for a missed FG)
2. Golson just wants to make plays and turns it over, though that first one wasn't totally on him.
3. Folston was great. He was patient and shifty.
3A. GB looked more decisive today which is a plus.
4. Fuller is electric. Could have had two more TD catches had Golson not under thrown him.
5. Jaylon, what's up with him.
6. Defense: Poor tackling, coupled with Jaylon being off we suffered in containing the QB.
7. Our offense can put up points and fast. We just need to calm down and execute all the time.
8. Not even close to panicking about next week. FSU didn't impress me against anyone all year, especially this week against 'Cuse. If anyone watched that game , they'd know the game was closer than the score. 'Cuse was horrible in the redzone.
9. Special teams were outstanding.
10. Bowl eligible. Amazing how we were always biting our nails to get to this mark a few years ago, but now it's expected. Love that feeling!

6-0 friends! Everett has got to protect the damn ball! Otherwise that game is not nearly as close. Great effort by UNC, I wish them well the rest if the way. There is no quit in them.

I agree. This was a trap game, sandwiched between a big victory against Stanford and a huge game next week against Florida State. College football games are played in a context, not a vacuum. Not offering an excuse, just an explanation.
