Great job indeed.
Let's get work: On creating jobs can I get an American jobs act round 2 got filibustered last time, on fixing immigration, on reducing our debt in a balance way that is fair, on keep children safe, and giving people a fair opportunity to vote.
Infrastructure investment has the potential to pay back 1000x what it cost. But, only if its done correctly intially. The project will surely go to the biggest donor to Obama's campaign and excessive wages will be paid to build everything. Keynesian economics do not work. Spending will not fix our economy.
Increasing the mininum wage is a bad idea. It will create inflation and since wages are the last part of the equation to respond to an increase in cost the sudden price jump of pretty much everything will leave the worker in debt and further devalue our currency.
Spending on schools is a disaster and drain on money that sparks corruption. Theres huge money to be made by the few who profit on the limited choice of the many.
Also, at what point does it become unfair to tax the rich? 40% 50% 60% 75%? Government does not save money, it will spend every last dime and pull out the credit cards. In 15 years will it be fair to take 60% of the the wealthies salary? Another 15 years 75%? Its easy to take from the money tree when it isnt yours, and both sides of government are in no way reponsible enough to manage its finances.
Also...the housing collapse was created by wreckless malinvestment decisions that were created by the fed in holding down interest rates while creating the illusion that our economy was better than it was. Banks began lending bullshit loans to idiots that couldnt do simple math. Then, the fed raised interest rates to high which caused the meltdown. The market reacted the fictional reality created by the fed which was encouraged by our government (both sides)
